  1. I love mail time! Not only has it allowed me to discover some fantastic work (and purchase some), it keeps me challenged—what do I want to create. Please keep this going! Let the evolution grow naturally with intent. You’ll find the right balance in sure.

  2. There are some of us, likely many, who don't like any negative input to our creative work LOL. That said, I think your critique delivery is done with respect of the artist and is just fine. I know that in these last two videos I have learned a few things, so much so that I watched them more than once and took notes. I don't consider myself creative but I do think some creative people struggle with the process, layout and mechanics of putting together a photo project, book, display or exhibition. Your recent videos with Ralph Gibson, especially the "The Photo Book", were two of my all time favorites! Please continue! Thank you, David

  3. Your Friday sharing of international photographers' work is great. I enjoy it tremendously and get a lot of exposure to diverse photographic thinking/style or 'way of doing it'. My 2 cents worth on "unsolicited criticism" .. .. .. .. I believe that a very large % of those who send their work to you would like your opinion as well ?? For their benefit, and ours, do away with "criticism" (not usually a very likeable word) and just (as you have been doing) share a few quick to the point personal observations, should you feel it is necessary. Whether positive or somewhat negative, put it out there and the photographer and us can use it or not use it. Thanks for a most enjoyable series. Best.

  4. We all get more or less criticism for whatever we do in our lives, we are grown ups and used to it. Yours is so useful and subtly expressed that no one should have a problem with it. And if someone has (inevitably, there will be such cases) just focus on the thousands that are learning from it. So stop apologising about it and keep doing it 👍👍👍

  5. I think I missed something. The title for this video that I see is, "Creative Macro Photography", yet the subject of the video is mail time and a review of some great books viewers have sent you. I very much enjoyed the quarter hour, but am curious about the title. Thanks.

  6. Thank you for discussing Manhattan Released on your Mail Time video. Your constructive critiques are very welcome and incredibly valuable. I learn so much, and have a lot of fun from seeing all of the books you present. They really bring this small community closer together. It is nice to see so many people from all over striving for the same goals. Thank you!

  7. I would guess that you don’t want to become an advertiser for the people who mail in their work, but there are several zines or books that I would like to buy and there just isn’t enough information to track down those that are available to purchase (looking at you, Chuck Johnson).
