In this video we are summarising some of the comments on the Changing Car Culture and Agenda 2030 video from two days ago⦠#cars #agenda2030 #news #breaking
im 41, ive saved a few modern classics. 2004 vw ploo 1.2 3 potter 137,00 miles paid Β£150 scrap still going good, 2005 fiesta 1.4 ghia still going good 73k paid Β£100 , 2010 volvo v50 edrive 1.6 diesel blocked dpf and egr fixed still going good paid Β£300 and its done 169,000 miles. and my pride and joy N reg 1.4 astra Arazona bought it 12 years ago for Β£80 60k miles still going good. i wonder if ev will last as long as them??? your guess is as good as mine
My 19 year old 2005 VW transporter probably wonβt see me out. So Iβm hoping that Reform U.K. gets into power and reverses the countyβs (net zero) race to the bottom. I know the current government is going to price me off the road before too long.
As a motorcyclist, we have very little voice. We're a dying breed with tests and licensing being expensive and over complicated. Road tax is ridiculous. I pay nearly Β£80 for a 650cc, whereas my Toyota Aygo is Β£20.
Had my Fiesta Ecoboost stolen a few weeks back. The police told me they go strait to chop shops as the thieves just want the Ecoboost engines to sell on. Just replaced it with a simple 4 pot low milage 66 plate Yaris. No more wet belt engines for me.
Happy New Year, Geoff! Hope your channel goes from strength to strength, during 2025 π€π Btw, my bloke's just had his motorbike insurance renewal through…it's gone up 30%. I'm dreading getting mine π’
My 1990 Defender, owned for nearly 20 years, coming up to 200k miles, same engine, gearbox, starts on the button and just works! I keep it maintained and it goes on and on. No electronics
When it comes to a total ban, especially including classic and vintage cars, bikes etc,the soyboy gang in charge won't go there.Just like they haven't banned smoking, which not only burns large amounts of oxygen, but also leaves behind CO2,and other gases that actually are poisonous. Not to mention the mountains of rubbish. They would be voted out.
World c0mmunism will last all of about 10 seconds, the soviet union only lasted as long as it did because WE were all funding it, read Prof Anthony C Suttons of the Hoover institute, books on the subject ! Very eye opening π€π
General motoring has been challenging in of itself for some time now and is not the symbol of indepdence it used to be. Right up until around ten years ago it used to be possible to get a cheap pre owned run around for no more than Β£500 with a full MOT. Now, good luck getting one for less than a couple of grand. Then there's the insurance and tax. In terms of inflation , ironically, the only thing that's really held is the cost of fuel. Then there's the hidden costs of driving. Maitanining a vehicle and parking costs have never been so high. Also, the joy of driving has been taken away, in part because of how many vehicles are on the road, but also how drivers are constantly running a gauntlet against bad drivers, poorly maintained roads and ever more sophisticated forms of surveillance. I accept some people absolutely need a vehicle to get by, but does driving really represent freedom anymore?
Great video Geoff ππ» I have no interest whatsoever in supercars never have even as a kid , I would much rather smoke around in an old Volvo much more fun π
we need to get this tyranical and traitorous load of MP's who have sold us to davos, blackrock and kill gates, OUT OF PARLIAMENT. or we are going to loose british culture and everything that stands for…
Having done some work for Ofsted a few years ago i can atest to the fact the iT systems of government are horrendous.. their contracts are indeed as bad as that gentleman said!
My 11yr old Skoda Fabia on LPG @70p ltr costs Β£30 for 40ltr full tank, combined with a full tank of petrol I can get from Manchester to Switzerland 800miles without stopping to fuel up, take that you spoiled brat EVs
I'm a real rebel just bought a 1999 Reliant Robin with 27000 mies on it. Should see me out but just in case I'll keep an eye out for a G Wiz or crashed Citroen Ami and strip all the parts out ready to transfer over to the Robin. πππ
Had sun today! I'm feeling a wee bit better after the damp, weird, yukky fogginess! Know anyone that wants to analyse the yukky residue off my car? As always, you never fail to cheer me up. Now to go catch up on ya next vid…
I went on a bus over 40 years ago, I had my dog π with me and it sat on the seat next to me. The front seats where I sat were facing in on opposite sides of the bus π and an old couple were sat opposite me and my dog π. Above me was a sign which stated that dogs were not allowed on seats. The old lady pointed out to me about the information about the sign and pointed to my dog. I looked at my dog who looked at me and I showed him the sign and the dog π didnβt get off the seat, I said to the old lady that my dog π cannot read and he stayed seated. I have never been on a bus π since that day – true story from when I lived in Doncaster.
Geoff, if you have 1 hour spare π€ Please watch βEV mandates vs Freedomβ absolutely enlightening. If you only have a few minutes, watch at 50:54!!!!
The people donβt want EVβs the government do, the people are sick of immigrants, the government love them too, the people are sick of the murder and rape rate, guess which races are responsible for 60% of them too, a rebellion has to happen, the status quo has died
In 2007 my Dad bought his second Volvo 940, the latter being the estate without turbo for Β£1,200, in 2014 he sold it for Β£700, cheap motoring and very low maintenance, he was sad to see it go.
Geoff Happy New Year 2025! I wish you and your family happiness, health, and a great year ahead. Please keep the videos coming!
Hopefully the rise of populism will save us, although uk is going left while the rest of the west is moving towards the right.
Loving your channel Geoff, keep doing what you are doing. Down to earth and very relatable to what regular folks are feeling and going through.
Diesel Geoff goes for Lithium Wolfbox? Okay XD
3:13 I knew I'll make it to the main news π π π

Frankly, I would buy a Volvo 240 estate, and two fingers to the government's stupid scheming.
βI canβt stand the guy to be totally honestβ π

what a cracking video so on the money
It's the end of motoring if you don't buy an EV, I'm looking forward to your new walking channel in conjunction with the ramblers.

Geoff I've owned the same land rover discovery td5 since 2000

We have to organise and fight back. Everyone needs transport. Backbones needed.

24:06 that is the look, albeit briefly, of a very irritated Dad, Geoff π
