TheCGBros Presents “”IMMORTALS”Made by Daniel Robinson, Thomas Travers, James Salcedo, Ben Mitchell – This short fully animated film follows our four heroes called Immortals who have to defend Earth from a powerful villain called Ares. Ares seeks to destroy Earth with his new super weapon but will the immortals stop him or will it be too late.
This short film was created by a main team of 4 VFX artists, with extra help with modelling, texturing and music. We created this during lock down at our final year of University. We started work around July 2020 and finished in May 2021.
The main software used to create the 3D renders was Blender and to edit was Premiere Pro. However, we also used: Maya, Houdini, Substance Painter and Motionbuilder for modelling, texturing, UVing, simulations and motion capture clean up. For more information, please see the details and links below:

This is basically just Halo, but because of potential copyright issues with calling them Spartans, they were like "Oh, who did the Spartans fight? The Persians. What were the elite troops of the Persians called? Immortals!"
Great, loved it.

It's so weird. On one hand, the models look very good but then the movement is janky AF.
Not a really original idea but done well.
Dripping with way too much pathos. There should be a likeable or at least interesting character, but it's emotionally artificial like plastic. Just like "Armageddon" would have felt without Liv Tyler: Incomplete.
This could be good. But it copies too much from every other Star Wars/Halo/Lord of the Rings story of the last seventy five years. This isn't original, and the CGI animation is not top tier stuff, the dialogue is stale and predictable. Keep trying, everything takes practice. Good luck.
The graphics is OK, but the story and dialogs however are completely stupid.
I highly recommend that the authors go spend some time reading history books on how empires were formed, how did they prosper and how they declined and vanished. Seriously, do you have history and geography in your "high" school education in 'murica?
No civilization is "advanced and prosperous" and then suddenly some "evil guy" comes out of "nowehere", takes over, and then starts a civil/galactic war to prove what??
5 minutes into the story and I had to stop. Really, go read books, educate yourselves, and don't base your garbage production on the usual Hollywood garbage production.
The story is far too derivative, the animation would look good in stasis, but when set in motion it's all herky jerky. Nice try. Try again.

I learned a lot from watching this. 12 mins of exposition…I can see the amount of work that's gone into this and kudos for that…its very difficult to engage with characters and story though when the story is continuously spoon fed…sometimes less is more…

Enough of this propaganda. Previously: government is evil monopole, brave hero with his rebel folks went all against example. Robin Hood, Neo, Jesus, Luke Skywalker. Currently: war is peace, empire is freedom, and there are these rebels and there is "the one" who want to destroy well established order. Im sick of this.

Makes question if models even created by the team who made the video. Everything looks bad(sorry but that's harsh truth), beside immortals models. Which is weird to me.
Get someone to review your script before production…
Your narration says Earth achieved peace and prosperity but then go on to say earth created a legion of elite warriors. Peace tgthrough coercion? Peace through threat of violence is not peace. Peace here but not outside of earth? You are promoting an ideology that is not healthy.
Poor mans Master Chief?
On the surface, the animations were pretty… until things started moving and showed how stiff and derivative they were. The storyline was thin as tissue paper, the voice-acting and dialogue was abysmal. I was already eye-rolling during the painful, beginning voice-over as the narrator said humanity had achieved "peace and prosperity", yet they had a fighting force that "only knew war"? I noped out of this hot mess at 6:03. Total drek.
Wow, this looks fantastic, but there are so many plot issues I can’t even start.
Objectively there is way too much story for this video that the exposition is just too much. The animation is sub-par. If they're not doing crazy movements, isn't mocap gonna be better? In terms of rendering, it's good most of the times except for the wide shots(I understand). The sound design is egregious and sounds "cheap"
