First!
Epic video, YEAH YEAH YEAH!
Finally!!! The other two videos by bedbanana is also a must watch.
Great video, next has to be Prison Escape 😂
One thing to keep in mind is that this was done before PES and the cargo refactor, salvage, cargo in npc ships, soft death etc, stuff. Was a whole different game back then. I'd love to see what they'd do with all the new toys now. I've always used it to show ppl what the game is capable of. A lot of it is edited so it didn't all happen in the same session etc. But nothing they did was impossible, I've done/seen some of it myself when my org held jumptown. Just improbable in the same session or exactly as shown.
If even basic server meshing comes in and allows the servers to stay above 20 (server) fps this game is going to take off. Eventually , if they get dynamic server meshing to work and too many fights were happening around JT the shard could spool up a dedicated server just for the JT area itself, to keep things humming.
Sounds like your own music audio is running in the background of the video, anyways the BedBananas video is amazing, he's good at utilizing headtracking in this one.
I've watched this video many many times since it was uploaded over a year ago.
Hard to say what has been edited out or had been staged. Maybe lots, maybe nothing.
But it makes you fall in love with the game and this fun bunch of players.
They have other videos as well, but even older than this one. All worth a watch
thats actually one in a series, the first is the prison escape then the space convention.
So much fun just watching 😂
What other game lets you do all that? There simply is no other game that can compare. Think about all.we saw: Space combat, parkour, HALO drops with vehicles, using a surface to air missile launcher in space, tanks, massive bombs, using self destruction of.ships as a tactic, sneaking aboard enemy ships and.stealing cargo, disguising yourself as.the enemy, blizzards, an entire city planet, FPS combat, punching, medical rescue, sniping, grenade launchers, drug smuggling, 50+ player battles, speeder bikes, massive capital ships, Ship interiors, massive areas, and sooooo much more! And we're all used to it. This is just1 event.
We see the bugs. We see the gameplay. The only thing is it's edited for content. But we see the immersion. We see the teamwork. Those guys yelling in triumph isn't acting because I have experienced those same moments too. You can play this game alone, but you miss out on so much.
There simply is no other video that captures the reasons why I love this game so much. Despite all the bugs. I wish they would make more SC videos. Prison Escape is definitely my second favorite video of theirs. It's so different because Star Citizen can give such amazing and different experiences. This is an amazing game and it's a tragedy that people are missing so many incredible moments because the gaming press has made them think it's some sort of scam. This is all genuine moments here that no other game can even touch. Games like Starfield and Elite look like children's toys in comparison.
That's a good vid their titling reminds me of the movie Zombieland. It really showcases the potential of SCs gameplay and the chaos that can happen in battles. The ATMO E-Sports Daymar Rally is happening right now as I type and I think Space Tomato is filming it. The Hercules A2 is popular for that mission because it has the tools to clear the area with tons of belly turrets or bombs. I kind of wish we had a variant that is like the real-life US Hercules gunship with the artillery howitzer. The MOABs are cool but a touch overkill because you can't keep anyone close to quickly exploit the opening you just made unless you stage everyone in fast vehicles.
Alt X is the default keybind to wipe helmet :]. They live streamed all of this but yes they edited out some bug's.
Not any other game can give you this much immersion. They try, but cannot immerse you this much. Seeing a battle in the sky and/or orbit from the ground is just incredible. Being able to board someone else's ship and set the auto-destruct, and run, taking out three other ships!!! This video is a year old, and really showcases the possibilities. You don't need contracts to have a blast with a bunch of friends. This is an awesome sandbox. BedBannanas also did a video on escaping Klesher prison. I think you would enjoy that one too.
I snuck into Jumptown solo in my scout and made off with millions while no one was looking or targeting each other. but its more fun with a squad.
Of course you were getting cyberpunk vibes, the game is heavily inspired by cyberpunk.
CIG even said the style of SQ42 was rooted in the scifi of the 70's and 80's which is when most of the cyberpunk classics were created.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968), Blade Runner (1982), Neuromancer (1984) etc…
Google "List of cyberpunk works" if you wanna learn more. To me cyberpunk is love, cyberpunk is life, and if I could pick a time to be born in, it would be a dystopian cyberpunk future, because to me, that's what the world of humankind is already like, most are still pretending to be moderate and selfless because it's expected from you if you want to be part of society.
But in reality, the extreme contrasts of wealth and poverty, progress and poverty, dark city corners and neon lights have always been part of humanity, our technological society just hasn't caught up yet. So to me, cyberpunk is a more honest representation of humankind.
High-tech, low-life!
There is only 1 other game where you can get this, and it's pretty much just this.
Planetside 2.
It's just as awesome, some woud say even more awesome cause it's limited maps and they cram in many hundreds of players all just fighting.
But personally I prefer having variety like in SC.
Knowing the names of ships isn't that different from knowing the names of ships from your favorite Sci-Fi franchise. Game knowledge shows up when you know whether to be scared or not based on the ship and whether the turrets are manned or not.
I do feel for the guy that pleaded "i have four hours to play this game" 😆 but honestly, if i was him, I'd be happy that they got to experience something like that rather than just be alone in the verse.
You should definitely react to this same creator's other two Star Citizen videos: "The Prison Escape" and "Space Convention".
This one never fails to give me goosebumps. I fuckin love beds videos
I also like the Citizen Kate video where they have a lot of mixed warfare going on with very disciplined troops.
This video was awesome! But, if you liked this, then you'll LOVE "Prison Escape."
This is hard proof that SC is scam.
It is not on one take, so they must have edit video.
I'm in that video 😅. I had no clue I was pvping those dudes
This video is still one of my favourites. Captures so much of what the potential of this game is. Another channel you should look at is Citizen Kate. Some of the best org vs org pvp combat you will see, as well as so many other fun gameplay, in well made videos.
Super hyped for the cargo refactors they are doing to most missions to include freight elevators
You have the best reaction video for this, and there are a lot! Glad to see you getting into SC. Now is a good time, and the future is bright!
Me and my friends did this before. Same ship and ground vehicles it was a blast. Didnt air drop though
This game looks amazing.
The only other game that had the combined arms element was Battlefield but this is on a whole new level. You can see the difference PES(persistence made) once a ship blew up or a person died they despawned. So you had to loot them while they were down. Also they had much less people per server only about 50. now its 100.
They definitely had bugs took an hour to gather everyone on the same planet and so on. they cut all that out and just stick to the action around jump town. but the footage is probably weeks or months stitched together of all the various jumptown missions since they usually only run on weekends or holidays.
I'm pretty sure I was in that random spartan that drove past the building they blew up with the roof guns. i thought the place was empty and just got the spartan so I went zooming right past not realizing how long it took to slow down and had to turn around to come back but at that point they were on the guns shooting. My worst jumptown run. lol
I wish these guys did more vids. each one the stories get better and the editing and music keep ramping up.
that probably took like 20 hours of gameplay to do. haven't seen it in months but man it still hits so hard. BB did so well.
Jumptown antics are my favorite. Once I left my Carrack bay open while I was in getting drugs. Come out to see my Carrack lifting off. I run to the first open ship i see a Cutty Black. Jump in the seat and steal it ti chase down my Carrack loaded with drugs. As I lift off and start chase the owner of the Cutty shoots me in the head. I respawn on my stolen Carrack and give fight to the 2 theives who stole my ship. I win the day in my underwear and reclaim my ship full of drugs. Love love Jumptown
No other game can give us what SC can. When it works, it's magical. Not to mention it's just getting better and better
This game is basically a choose your own adventure game. The style you want to play in this game is only limited by your imagination. The skys the limit but beyond that it's potentially by far the best game ever created and that's a lot to be said because it's only in alpha. There is literally something for everyone
This was a very enjoyable watch, thanks for sharing!
Having the JT mission assign player markers was such a dumb decision. I think they got rid of it after a short while, but I just cant fathom why they thought it was a good idea in the first place.
That's the exact video that hooked me into trying it, no regrets here. It's still an entertaining video.
