  5. 17:57 I play dnd and about half of the people I play with are from England, and maybe it's just because dnd is American but they're all very comfortable with the imperial measurements and don't seem to have any issue using them. The only hang-up we regularly have is converting temperatures.

    Also the idea that zombies are corpses that have come back to life instead of being reanimated by magic is a very modern concept. Inferi are much more accurate to the historical zombies than the infectious bite zombies that we're familiar with now.

    These two points actually intersect now that I think about it because dnd zombies are traditional and dnd was first printed before modern zombie movies started iirc. That intersection isn't really relevant, just amusing.

  10. I was wondering if the sock thing would come back so I ended up going “oooh” when it was included. Also, for ships: Harry and Draco & Sirius and Lupin.

    I only read the first 4 books because I boycotted the series after seeing Sirius die while on a cruise (in 2007 when I was a young teen). I walked into a room, that ended up having the movie playing, right at the moment he died so that was all I ever saw of OotP. I bought all the books when they came out, but only got around to reading the 4. Didn’t buy the last 4 movies until a couple years ago when my family went to Universal (the year HP world was opened) so my nephews could borrow them. I still have never finished the series (don’t really care to after all these years because I have other series) so I enjoy this channel for the theories and letting me pretend I finished it because of all the quizzes/what ifs. I also read a lot of Drarry/alternate storyline fanfiction during the boycot years (those don’t count toward the series).

  11. We also use imperial measures in things like sewing, long distances (we still have miles and yards on our signs rather than kilometers) etc. We're not fully using the metric system but we're not fully imperial measurements either

  22. To be fair, we don't know if anyone else faints from the Dementors because we only see Harry's reaction. For all we know other students are badly affected but we just don't see it. Also, Harry was so young when his parents were murdered that he doesn't even remember it. Up until Hagrid comes to get him he believes his parents were killed in a car crash. What if the memories the Dementors stir are actually the memories of Voldy's soul in Harry remembering how he "died" that night? That would be pretty traumatic. If you think about it, Dumbledore would probaly know that was the real reason Harry is so baddly affected by Dementors

  25. So if Harry burns quirrel because of him being a sort of horcrux then would Harry be able to destroy the other horcruxes with his hands if Voldemort never uses his blood to come back. And why doesnt the diary get destroyed

  27. Nah did u see a Aberforths Patronus in DHP2 it was for sure bigger than Harry’s unless Aberforth only used his Patronus in the movies I don’t rlly remember the book it’s been a while lol

    Couple fun facts about the wizarding world that crossed my mind today
    Godric Gryffindor was born in the West country of England
    Hogwarts was founded 990 ad
    England was under Dane law from roughly 976-1016
    G.G was famous for his red hair and fondness for dueling
    Headcanon godric Gryffindor was a viking wizard

  33. what if the spell is linked to the Trace. It is applicable as long as the wizard/witch has the trace on him/her. Also in C, at that moment Harry has all 3 deathly hallows to his name (even if the stone is in the dark forest). 7:13 The movie script writers stopped reading the books at some point before Goblet of FIRE. And they didn't realize that they were missing points (I'm trying to say calmly). P pass out? Harry and Ron never compete his education (7th year), doesn't pass out mean graduate from school? 16:36 Pretty ironical given it is days before Voldemort's real birthday.

  35. Why inches can more easily be answered by looking at both the USA (1975) and the UK (1995). Both officially changed to metric being the preferred system, but most people still stick to imperial units.

  40. B.) Harry can't burn Quirrell because Quirrell is a Horcrux. If he could, the book and the others would've been destroyed just by his touch. R.) I don't get why James and Lily died at age 20 ish? Do the dead still age because James and Lily look… old as spirits.

  43. I’m British and I would say that even though we are officially metric a lot of people, especially older people, still use feet and inches. Personally I use inches mostly, I’m 5 feet 2 inches and have no idea what that is in metric.
