Hopefully this video will help you on your quest to catch the Albenaja in New World. The Albenaja is available in both freshwater and saltwater and can be from any catch. Of course if you want increased chances you should be uses the broad fishing spots, the rare fishing spots, and the secret fishing spots to increase your chances along with rarity increasing bait.
I try to include mention if you can also farm oysters for oyster bait + pearls, catch electric eels for electric eels bait, and if you can catch tadpoles while farming. Also it’s always best to use rarity increasing fishing bait such as firefly Bait and Glowworm bait.
I used the newworldfans.com to share the locations with you and I highly recommend all their resources especially since as the game gets updated my guide may become outdated.

Caught one just a few minutes ago on accident with a glowing bait. Not sure what to do with it haha. I looked up the recipe. Its gonna be a while before I can use it. 175 cooking skill required. Maybe I'll just keep it as a trophy

I got one by accident the other day while fishing for something else. I managed to get one of these and NOT the actual fish I was searching for. Go figure.

So how messed up is the RNG on fishing? I caught this fish tonight while messing around. I was at the Salt Water hot spot on the ocean east of town and it was done and I had no bait. So I casted down the shoreline(very shallow) with no bait and hooked him.
I've gone from fishing lvl 55 to 85, and haven't caught him yet, going between those spots. Am I missing something?
