For oversite to be effective members of the board need to go to prison. If there are not consequences for the people at the top there is no incentive for other organizations to make sure their house is in order and if there is no consequences the only incentive is the profit margin
The Post Office is the premier institution of our country. Until the First World War that was almost the entirety of peoples interaction with the State. Privatization has stolen our own property from under us.

The thing is that UN ordered no more paper from 2025. Creating excuses to abolish the post office will assist in that. This means all to be on computers, and we all know how important things are altered or deleted from the web and more.
The actual criminals in control and their obedient servants should have proceeds of crime upon all they and their families own until honest auditors work out what was right and just for them to be paid. Major shareholders also. Were businesses such as Blackrock and Vanguard invested?
It was timed to become higher profile now. The documentary could be have been made and screened years ago. See?

In future any large bonuses should be delayed subject to an external performance related investigation.
Typical of the Tory Shill Iain Dale he calls out the coalition government in this issue by focussing on the fact that it was a LibDem who was responsible for the Post Office when the Tories (who needed the coalition because they did NOT win the 2010 election) were in power. He then points the finger at Blair and Brown who shared the PM position between 2000 and 2010. He eventually mentions in passsing the Tory responsibility but doesn't point his finger at them quite so hard despite them having been in power for over 13 of the 20 years of this travesty. And let's not forget, Cameron brought this matter up in Parliament and said it needed sorting out. So no Tory can claim ignorance of the situation or the fact that it had been going for at least five years at the time. Private Eye covered it from 2010. Panorama covered it in 2015. But Dale the Shill has typically tried to minimise the Tory part in this.
As for Mims Davies saying the DWP stands for the little guy… In my 42 years of being within the remit of the DWP as a citizen of the UK in many and various aspects of life I can attest that the little guy gets stepped on and swallowed whole by the DWP just as much as by the Post Office. So her "it's not us, it's only them" defence rings very hollow.

The caller is spot on. You need money to get justice in this country, ipso facto it's a two tier justice system, a great tier for the rich, and an appallingly unfairly unjust tier for the poor.

Any crime that chargeable with a fine is essentially legal for the rich

The Tories gave Paula Vennells a CBE in 2019 despite the many many court cases. The Tories stood for the corrupt and greedy liars AGAIN and the average person is the one who suffers.

The only way the little guy triumphs over the rich is if bonuses are taken back from PO executives and the executives end up in jail. That would be justice. Because the PO has been found guilty of tax avoiding to the tune of £100 m. Theft from the poor to line the pockets of the rich.

Successive UK Govt's have deliberately run down, defunded, slashed Access to Legal Representation for decades. They have made it nigh on impossible for the Little Man to even SPEAK to a Legal Representative and as for the balderdash about MP's (well maybe a handful or so) standing up for and being the Voice of the Little Man, is anyone LOOKING at the Grifters and Demagogues that gorge themselves at the Public Trough in Wastemonster?

It was very painful for the little guy while the perpetrators enjoyed bonuses, well paid salaries and generous pension packages etc.
If there wasnt some quite big powerful investors backing alan bates then he couldnt take on the post office so it is them and us he needed a them to take on another them.

It is not only a matter for redress for the victims, along with compensation for their suffering, but a dire need for retribution sgainst all who transgressed – including those professionals who actions fell far short of the ethical standards of their calling.
We've all the same amount of power, it's partly down to the media's fascination with celebrating government officials that makes us think otherwise.
