1) If you remain to far above the enemy, they'll blow out your bottom armor quite quickly. So get down closer to their level fast. That way you can turn another side quickly.
2) Cerastes are murder hornets. They'll rip through ship armor and kill Viper squadrons quickly. One tactic is to send all your homing missiles (not torpedoes; I don't use torpedoes most of the time) at one. Most of the time the Cerastes will run away from the battle to get away from the homing missiles, which of course they can't. But it takes one out of the fight for a while. In this last scenario, I would have done this and sent all the Vipers to kill a Nemesis.
3) Pay attention to your ships. I saw that you went full attack but didn't pick targets for your Adamants.
4) The more defense you crank up the less missiles you fire, usually half the number.
5) Keep a fleet with Daidalos. The two extra Viper squadrons help a lot and you need the station for "story" battles.
Hope this helps.
Again, man, your little Ken Burns-esque story intros to these are fantastic.
You can check the size of the cylon fleet before you decide to engage by selecting the cylon face in the lower left of the screen
I was waiting for his first encounter with The Cerastes always focus fire those A Holes.
I keep hearing "BATTLESTATIONS, Set condition 1 throughout the ship" in my mind! This game is giving me the vibes from the show, Music is really strong how it fades in and out during tactical/battle transitions.
Lessons were learned. 2 episodes in an I am getting itchy to play this again. Daedalus is 2 free squadrons. I always had it with for story missions/timed missions for that reason, and actually never sent it to Ragnarok. You can then use normal fleets to jump on the toasters, and cover the board (it can take 4-5 jumps to travel and missing a timer can be bad. And once you have spare ships stick an officer in one and park it over a "quiet" but unhappy colony to do some passive diplomacy, or bonuses. Most of the toaster activity is focussed front right early on, but if you leave them too long they will "leak" a bit, and not in a good way.
Nice narrative at the beginning.
So from someone's whos completed a campaign. don't be focusing on replacing your Manticores too much once you get the Mk2 Vipers and Support Ships. While they are useful and have a role, you will start getting better Ships that are more useful. you can keep building Adamants though as they are the mainstay of the Fleet and are useful everywhere.
shack the torpedoes are good for big slow ships, you can also fire them at unverified dradis contacts
Tis what happens when you underestimate your enemy.
I've just started following your BSG: Deadlock. And I'm enthralled. I love it from the Intro, to the reactions. Keep it up!
I'm desperately waiting for you to release this series I absolutely love it thanks for covering the game!
Love watching this series, idk if it’s different since you have all the expansions but with the basic game you get battle stars unlocked after the 3rd story line mission 🙂
Have leave a small fleet with the station and leave it at Ragnar, safe or not cant be to ready plus if you Need a quick fleet boost you have spare at the station
I never knew this game existed. It is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks Capt'n
BSG-37 reports as ordered. Fleet has nearly 850 hours combat experience against the toasters over 3 campaigns. Feel free to DM for tactical suggestions and formations effective at both making scrap metal and preserving your own ships.
I recommend you go to Spacedocks channel so you can get intel on some of the ships as he was a tester for the games launch. And be careful with those Cerestes class destroyers. They’re an anti aircraft ship that is fast, agile and has about 12-14 PD guns for chewing up your fighters. They have a full 180 frontal coverage from the bow but only able to cover around 45 degrees above and below the nose, so sending your fighters to hold a spot as high above them as possible to preserve them is recommended (as you found out).
Also, setting your squadrons to “defend location” means they’ll sit where you want them and intercept missiles, torpedoes, fighters and ships that get close to them. It’s a good tactic for guarding a ship without a flak battery (anything that isn’t a Battlestar (or Heracles or Defender which are later toys in the game)) and as a forward missile intercept picket.
Also, your posture dictates your ships capabilities: defensive decreases gun range and accuracy, decreases the salvo size of missiles and torpedos but makes your ships more tanky to damage when needed, increases their internal defense against birding parties, increases dradis range, and increases firewall defense to hacking. An aggressive posture does the opposite of this: increased gun range/accuracy, larger salvos, shortens dradis range and decreases marine strength, lowers damage resistance and lowers defense to hacking.
Went ahead and watched the twitch Sid rod things and bazerk gun ships have better guns but can’t shoot down straight too the side or above is the shooting arc they doo more damage than adiments even with no rockets adiments replaced by rocket boats added with the bazerk and then two battlestars as tanks and flak so fleet comp should be
2-battleships
2-rocket ships
2- bazerk
1- scout
You got your tanks your fighters and your dps but keep your battle ships and bazerk lower than the enemy
The Cealian has 14 hp left at the end turn. That's why it died. Should've made a hard turn and prayed.
6:50 another fleet can be made at any time, just have ships not attached to an existing one (assign and officer if you want)
9:00 manticores don't have fighters, they were selected and told to launch. The game was letting you know that some ships couldn't fallow your orders.
9:30 you can double click on the ship or on the names in the upper left to select all ships of the same class
14:25 you can click on the target on the screen, this can be a little finicky (have to rotate the camera) but easier than cycling through all available targets
i would recommend keeping the station mobile, it is required for some main missions and it's 2 extra fighters shouldn't be overlooked. If you want to leave it stationary for a while I would recommend picking one of the colonized planets, look at the buffs they give when the station is present and decide which one you like.
Please keep an eye on your weapons and their firing arc. Most ships should be lower than your enemy.
Cerastes are fighter killers, and they are murder boats. I recommend having at least one fleet in each system, with the goal of one fleet per member world.
And that's why you all way cheak your ship and don't all ways go full attack if being attacked
Oh yeh, the AA corvettes are in fact one of the most dangerous to everything ships you'll find, def. After Revenants focus them down.
