  1. im not woke but why would i want to fight for a country that doesnt support the people who have served and why should i fight for the elite who dont give a crap about you and just want you to risk your life so they can either get more oil or more money

  2. I cancelled my application to the army when i realised i didn't want to die for this country. The country is finnished, mass immigration, taxes that make us look socalist, NHS is garbage, housing is unaffordable and generally having zero hope for my generation. Why should we fight for a government that doesn't fight for us. It's not that people aren't willing, it's that the country isn't worth fighting for. We prosecute our own soldiers while at the same time we pardon hundreds of terrorists

  3. The UK armed forces has been scaled back to what would be a reserve force if a conflict happened now
How the lads were treated , kitted out , in Iraq and Afghan was a joke
How the lads are housed in the UK , thats a joke , some live in homes not fit to keep cattle in
How much the lads get paid is a joke
You pay the right money , give them the right kit , give them decent homes , youd get a better armed forces all round
Easy to comment when only 2? MP's have served in any branch of the armed forces
Farage wouldnt be speaking from experience then with his TV & Media deals and jolly boy life style

  4. Lets be brutal , immigrants get better housed than those living in forces accommodation / houses / or in the blocks
You take the piss out of the lads with pay , kit etc etc , what do you expect ?
Give them MP's salaries for fighting in shit hole countries then you might fill the massive recruitment gap !!!!!

  5. Conditions of service is a bull’s eye comment. A friend of mine spent 10 years in the Navy and in that entire time only had a total of 6 months at home! Who in their right minds would sign up for that if 5hey new in advance how it would turn out. It cost him his marriage. And that was 30 years ago! God knows how bad it is now. Additionally, who would want to fight for this country or even die for it, when it has been given to the replacement population.

  6. Privarisation of the military through erosion of the values it stands to defend. Disgraceful. You cant treat service personnel the same as bankers, shop workers or any other civilian position without there being consequences. The same has been done to police, fire and ambulance. People in these roles have no equal in normal civilian roles as the risks are far greater.

  7. I left the Navy 5 years ago and I knew back then the British military would struggle. This country has no respect for its veterans at all, we do not support our military at all, there’s literally no benefit to serving your country here. And you expect people to give up their lives for it?

  8. I showed an interest in the navy once. I was at a recruitment fair.
I met an officer (recruitment) of the Navy, and said my maths was not the best but I was interested in the navy as a career.
To summarise the officer lost all interest in me as a recruit and wrote me off. Thus ended, my exploration of the navy as a career. In fact he seemed like he wanted rid of me.
A few years later. I brushed up my maths skills and came top of the class.
However, after my negative experience with an elitist officer of the Royal Navy, I lost all interest in pursuing a naval career…
Perhaps, this is another reason why the navy lacks recruits in 2024? It remains an elitist organisation that favours public school kids over working class lads that could perfectly adapt to naval life if they were given more opportunity. Maybe its changed. But I doubt it.
Anyway, the Grand Fleet is long gone, a century or so. Why would our youth want to train for a continually shrinking career as a naval rating or officer? The Ministry of Defence has continually shrunk the navy since WW2.And the government has a woeful record of investing in our armed services. Instead relying far, far too much on a USA that increasingly wishes to be come isolationist again.

  9. I'll correct the disingenuous headline; "Royal navy runs out of recruits when government slashes pay by 20% and puts everything out to contract via vulture capitalists". If you vote tory then this is what you wanted!
