A change in the colonial-era criminal laws increasing jail term in hit-and-run cases has triggered truckers’ protests across the country. Under the new law, drivers can be jailed for up to 10 years for fleeing and not reporting a fatal accident. Earlier, the accused could be jailed only for up to two years under Section 304A of the IPC (causing death by negligence).

I have seen in 2004 myself how a young 15 yr boy went flat under the truck …while the truck wala didn't even care to stop or even check ? Jinda h ya marr gaya . He just looked and ran away . Aur ha ….he still might be working somewhere God knows protesting 😂

और जरूरत पड़े तो जेल में डालो
क्यों जेल में डालो क्योंकि
इन्होंने ड्राइवर लोग कानून म् बदलाव को पढ़े ही नहीं
बदला हुआ कानून कहता है
अगर ड्राइवर ने किसी को ठोकर मारी है और भाग कर पुलिस के पास जाता है तो जुर्माना भी नहीं लगेगा और सजा भी सिर्फ 2 साल मिलेगी
10 साल और 7लाख जुर्माना तब लगेगा
जब ड्राइवर ठोकर मार कर भाग जाता छुप जाता है

सब नियम बस गरीबों के लिए बनते है बस। कभी किसान, कभी ड्राइवर, कभी छोटे व्यापारी। जो मादरच ओद यहां ज्ञान पेल रहे है वो बताए ट्रेन से भी रोड से चार गुना ज्यादा एक्सीडेंट होता है। बना कभी कुछ law. इतने इंडस्ट्री से पॉल्यूशन हो रहा है जिससे पूरा देश मर रहा है लगा 10 साल का जेल किसी को। ये मोदी मदरच ओद अगर औकात हो तो कभी 10 मिनट के लिए बिना सिक्योरिटी के रोड पे आ जाए तो हम बताते है रूल बनाने से क्या क्या होता है जो बस गरीबों के लिए होता है। अगर इतना ही चिंता है पैदल और साइकिल वालो के लिए अलग रोड बनवा एमसी, बीच बीच में zebra crossing बनवा. ये mc bolega mai garib ma ka beta hu pura desh bech rha hai ambani,adani aur khud ko garib kahta hai jo 5lakh ka suit roj badlta hai. Andhbhkat itne andhe ho gye hai ki unki ma bhi modi ch,od de to bolenge modi ji kuchh sich ke hi kiye honge.

The law is good but the money acquired by the accused drivers must be given to the person died or injured. Why would the government take it ? If the government is taking the whole money and giving the 1% of it as compensation to the victim then the government is undoubtedly the corrupt one.

The proposed law by the government is exactly what HIT AND RUN VICTIMS NEED. Sounds very fair:
"The new law provides for a jail time of up to 10 years and/or a fine of ₹7 lakh for serious road accidents due to negligent driving and where drivers run away without informing the police"
So it's not about 'galti ya na galti'..
Such misinformed opinions and strife have been the bane of this government and have hindered Indias progression, just like the farmers' protests!
What does everyone else think about this law?? I hear truckers concerned about not being able to pay fines, don't they have insurance, or work in companies that provide legal aid?
I feel the government needs to run education campaigns months in advance to highlight the benefits of laws they're about to roll out people.
The day civilians start following laws that allow justice to victims, laws that empower enforcement, and the day people take personal responsibility for their actions, then India will become civilised like the west. And I wish all of this happened 25 years ago.. I can only hope and pray 🙏🏽

लॉ बनाने के लिए लॉ कमीशन बनता। लॉ का ड्राफ्ट तैयार होता। फिर उस पर पूरे देश में बहस होती। फिर संसद में पेश होता और उस पर व्यापक बहस होती और फिर कानून बनता।…. यहां एक ब्यूरोक्रेट ने ड्राफ्ट बनाया और संसद ने मेजें थपथपा कर पास कर दिया और बन गया लॉ।
