Albanese government is ‘opaque and secretive’: Michael Shoebridge

Strategic Analysis Australia Director Michael has branded the Albanese government “opaque and secretive” in light of the latest scandal surrounding Iraq war cabinet papers.

“They are transparently opaque and secretive, they are doing the opposite to what they said they would do when they were in opposition,” Mr Shoebridge told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.

“They are trying to say this is all the Morrison government’s fault for something they didn’t do in 2020 – the real fact here is the prime minister’s department didn’t check that they had handed over the records to the archives.

“This is a failure of government oversight of two key departments.”

Mr Shoebridge comments are in response to criticism of the Labor government for blocking public access to national security records of the Howard government’s invasion of Iraq in 2003, despite them being declassified.

  1. A Strategic Analysis Australia Director is a great title for someone so inept. He is obviously a Howard appointee who can justify the closure of our defence factories. The ADF has never known what is needed to defend Australia. Get some of them on Q&A and ask them !

  2. The STUPID Turnbull Government should have kept the Japanese subs contract that Tony Abbott signed with Tokyo and we would now HAVE new capable subs in operation. We would only then need to lease two US nuclear powered subs for longer range operations IF they are available! The Albanese government should get off their arse and go talk to the Japanese, buy some more smaller ultra silent subs because the Americans may not even deliver the larger Nuclear powered ones!

  3. I remember before the last election albosleezy banged on daily about the Morrison government and that he was going to be a more open and honest government
Yet he has been the exact opposite they are so much more secretive and deceptive
Are they really that out of their depth
The Japanese are still building one sub a month and we could have them in the water now and they are as good as the American subs and we’re only 1.2 billion each saving us a fortune
What on earth is going on here is our government so broken and overwhelmed with woke beurocrats 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  4. They’re opaque and secretive because they have no idea how to run a chook raffle let alone the country. Albanese is not a leader. He’s a follower and a sycophant to China and the unions which is only detrimental to us all!

  5. ALBOSLEAZEY behaves like a little schoolboy. He grins to show he is so happy with himself for ALL THE DAMAGE HE HAS done and is still DOING TO AUSTRALIA. He is simply following the ORDERS OF HIS COMMUNIST CONTROLLERS. He has made many WONG decisions, but it is what they want him to do. HE IS THE PINNACLE OF THE COMMUNST "USEFUL IDIOT" and his cabinet are SLAVESTO THE CAUSE!

  7. Got to remember Albo is busy with the Jet setting and being seen with the glitterati, tasting $500 bottles of wine and using his eX-Qantas mate Joyces special dining lounges for politicians . Not corrupt 🤣 Leaves him no time to address the cost of living crisis we are all enjoying at the supermarket checkouts, glut of lamb, glut of Beef, ?where is the NCCC ? as the producers are not being paid premium prices that the supermarket duo/opoly supermarkets are charging. Nor time to address really governing. A "Working Mans government"? pardon my hysterical laughter ! Labor full of weasel words, still they are handing the Dutton crew the next election on a plate (not that they will be any better !🐀)

  8. And once again to try and deflect the real day to day issues, that his cabinet are incapable of addressing. And had the nerve to request an investigation into the undisclosed documents related to the Howard government decision to enter the war. Totally irrelevant just like his government. And as we know the big fat pension cheques are waiting.
