In today’s video I react to a drummer I’ve been following for the past year who has an insane drumming style. His name is El Estepario Siberiano.

Dont care about dynamics? One drum huh? I could play anything on guitar with only one string
Boring but skilful. This guy fits perfect on Cirque de Soleil.
I have been watching him for a while now, and I have been trying to come up with the words that describe him, I am always lost for words. The only thing I can say is that he is just a special guy.
I want to invite everyone on this channel to listen to my album and tell me what's good and what's bad about it
I think that "single hand roll" comes from Jojo Mayer.
El Estapario definitely has outstanding chops, and I've been witching him for a while now. Personally, I'd like to hear him with a band, as what he does, while technically complex and difficult to play, outside of entertaining, I'm not sure what he does is useful for a gigging drummer. Thomas Lang was asked if he ever used any of El Estapario's techniques and pretty much stated, "great drummer, but I don't have any use for that in what I do." El Estapario is fun to watch, and I'd love to have those chops, but I don't know what I'd do with them if I had them. Sucherman, too, said it best, " I get all kinds of great drummers who come to me for coaching. They have fabulous chops and can twirl and cross-over, and do all kinds of crazy things on the drums, but they can't play in time to a simple beat in 4/4." While fun to watch, I would not want to see upcoming drummers believe and learn that El Estapario's method of drumming is what they should be learning and will find them professional work in the industry outside of scoring hits on YouTube.
I was hoping you would get round to talking about this guy, he’s amazing
For gawds sake Rick, get him on your channel. The two of you will be fantastic together.
Invite him ASAP
been listening to him for a while and would urge everyone to look at some of his covers (play-alongs?) to get some feel for his style and subtlety (well sort of) compared to the OTT stuff e.g. checkout his version of Foo Fighters Pretender (some of the 'over the beat' fill are just amazing).
I basically follow 2 music channels on youtube and now you guys are going to do this together..? Please! Rick, you have to get this awesome drummer for closer interaction with you.
Far more talented than that Neil dude that everyone is so in love with…….you know, that guy that did not want to be apart of your fantasy and played in a band that was always in a hurry………..just say'n.
Rick what do you think of my originals???
BEATO! (Finnerty is the man!)
Watch, he’ll be the next SlipKnot drummer and then they’ll fire him over an email 5 years later.
go on
stop fooling around go what you do.
sorry for this. i
do not please
we dont care
Would LOVE to see you interview him!!! I've been following him for about a year now and he never ceases to amaze me.
You HAVE TO interview him!
when I first saw his video I thought it wasn't a real person but some AI generated video.(nobody is that fast at drumming) as I watched more and more of his videos I realized that he was REAL!! this guy is insane! LOVE IT! maybe someday when I grow up I can be as good as him ( I'm 50 now, hope there is still enough time)
I thought he was from brazil. And a lot of people have been calling him the devil's drum machine.
His skill is obvious and his showmanship is definitely off the charts.
The thing that hinders me from fully appreciating him is that I’m not that big on speed drumming. It definitely has its place, but…I prefer the drums to support and accentuate a song, not to override and completely dominate it.
I’d love to see him do some videos that showcased him grooving and/or playing with a live band.
But…to each their own. I hope he continues to thrive and add fans.
Jorge Garrido is El Estepario Siberiano's real name.
He was in the Metal Band called SARATOGA where he was then known as "Siberian Steppe" long before he went viral on-line.
Check out Papa Jo Jones also!!
I taught my son how to play drums when he was a boy. He eventually fell in love with working on cars – so the drumming fell by the wayside. But …he and I are big fans of drummers still.
We send each other videos all the time of El Estepario Siberiano. He's just mind boggling. I'd love to see you two get together for an interview.
Such inspirational music content from Rick and El Estepario, first YT video of 2024 watched – Happy New Year to you all 🙌🏻🫶🏻
When I saw him for the first time I knew it wasn't fake but the only word that came to mind was "impossible". The shotgun clip is my favourite.
The drummer for Def Leppard may only have one arm but this drummer only needs one on
Other drummers reaction videos to El Estepario Siberiano's drumming is how guitarists must have reacted when they first saw Jimi Hendrix perform.
Subscribed to his channel for some time now. And everytime I watch his video, man, just awesome. Makes me tell myself, yeah, that's easy!. . .but when I step up on the drums, well, much respect to that guy. . .salute!
In one of his videos he talks about the difference between talent and hard work. No matter what he says, he has innate talent that has made his hard work pay off as something showing some of the highest levels of accomplishment on the drums. And as much as his playing is inspiring, so is his honesty, humor, and authenticity.
Awesome video Happy New Year 🙂
Best drummer, in my humble opinion. Great attitude and someone who gives back.
That ain't no "Pat Boone, Debbie Boone" holy SMOKES!!
He is the man, but fucking hell, you're the man too for this rick <3
Yak, yak, yak…
El is EL!!!There is no other.Long live El.
His showmanship is incredible. I do find most of his videos to contain overplaying. But I also know that’s just the showmanship coming through.
His timing is impeccable and he sounds like a metronome.
I think the most impressive video I saw was a Michael Jackson beat where there no unnecessary fills or double bass drum bullshit.
I’ll not only be watching You till I leave the Planet, but You are the Godfather of all the Musicians in the World ❤God Bless You, Thxx
His timing is ridiculous, never heard anyone so dialed in before, and yes hes the greatest I've ever heard
I have been folowing "nuestro hermano" for a year or more. I've never played drums in my life, but boy does he make it look so easy,,, effortless. El Estepario Siberiano is the GOAT for me!!!
This dude makes me quit drums (AND tap dancing! 😂) and then pick em up again. Like a whole anime arc. BIGGEST inspiration. 🎆
I didn't know how similar his life was to mine also. I'm gonna have to watch that story as well. Huge fan. We need people like Estepario in the world. 💛
He must be the drummers drummer…wow..just wow.
rush.s new drummer?
Dude is freaking awesome!
He trained militantly for years to hone his talent. His entire life was and is drums. Look at is old day in the live vide and you will see what I mean
