How many times do we hear the term "sputter" to refer to the loss of the world's atmosphere? You'd think there would be a more scientific term in vogue for such a cataclysmic event. Like " The atmosphere just buggered off" or " pissed off."

Theres a huge problem with the loss of the magnetosphere and thus the atmosphere compared to the conditions on the planet. The dust covering the planet would require a livable atmosphere for plants to create new soil then die off for the soil to become dust to cover everything and it would have taken thousands of years. Without plant life no new soil would be created and eventually bury structures, you would have shifting sand dunes but not so tall you couldn't step over them. That's with a Mars like atmosphere that was stripped away due to the loss in it's magnetosphere… and on Mars there are natural features that are millions of years old from before the loss in the magnetosphere that are still there in just about the same condition,
Then if you remove all life from the earth, all oxygen and all water you set up the earth to be an excellent preserved time capsule for future humans to study in a million years. No life so no bacteria rotting wood into dirt, and no oxygen to make metals oxidize… rust is iron oxide, oxygen atoms combining with iron atoms making rust rather than a metal item. a 100% oxygen free iron slug will last longer than all stars will if it is on a planet that has no oxygen. On earth in the game where are the tree's that have no leaves? Where are all the structures? where is everything that requires oxygen, water or bacteria to degrade? And how the flying F did all those things disappear in less than 500 years when we find 2-5k year old objects in deserts that wouldn't last a century in a sub tropical environment…. deserts have life, water, and oxygen. According to the game lore then you should be able to enter a neat freaks home and find less dust on things than an average home if it had good weather sealing. It would look about the same as when the home was abandoned. Just don't touch anything because it is dried out and and will probably crumble into dust. Oh and ignore the perfectly mummified bodies in the homes that had residents still in them.
Earth in the game and the lore behind what happened makes as much sense as giving a love interest a bouquet of poop shaped into flowers and expecting her to be happy. Ladies, not a happy romantic moment huh?

We're asking the wrong question. The question should not be "why didn't victor tell himself the correct equation." The question should be "why is is necessary for earth to be destroyed so humanity can progress?"
Because the unity is an enitity with access to a theoretically infinite universe. So logically, there must be a universe where both earth survives and humanity conquers the stars. Yet in all the New Game plus universes we never see that, nor do we find empty worlds where everything is destroyed. You could just say "hurr durr Bethesda can't write." I think there is more too it.
We need a Whip to drive on moons and other planets. Instead of hoppi ng or worse running due to low gravity

in order to destroy the Earth's magnetic field you would have to remove the iron core
or stop the Earth from the revolving
if Earth lost its atmosphere nearly everything would be perfectly preserved
except of course for all life and the oceans but other than that it would look the same
everything man-made would still be there
the atmosphere would gradually get thinner until the oceans began to evaporate
most things would die of asphyxia
there would be no sand dunes except where they currently exist
because there's no atmosphere to blow the sand
tectonic shifting would occur because of the loss of the weight of the oceans
but it would be very localized
just pretend it makes sense right

My guess is that the people from other universes hadn’t solve the problem that caused earth to lose the magnetic field, his other self knew this and warned his this was gonna happen but they hadn’t figured out how to fix it and our universe, the one where game takes or maybe the onces where the emissary or hunter are from were the first ones to do it. When you mess with multiple universes pretty much all the rules go out the window.

clearly the other Victor Knew and did not tell his self about the "error" because there was none…it was intentional so that Humankind as a whole would be Forced to Leave before they fell victim to themselves. Since Prime Victor has been to more than one universe Id hazard to guess that somewhere along the way a Humanity with a Perfect Grave drive stayed mostly home and died out because they never dispersed.

What kills me about this game… Bethesda is owned by Micro$oft…. Why don't all of the computers run some sort of of "Windows 10" (You know the last OS you will never need per Micro$oft, wait, there is 11 now hmm). There is no

Starfield is bad. Faction quests are not integrated into the story. The companions are uninteresting. Almost every quest is just fetching something. There was no meaningful exploration like in fallout. The game is just boring. Everyone should just play the Outer Worlds.
What I find dismaying about this is that of each of these cities, there's only one thing left. I don't find that very realistic. I don't find that these were the only remains of our civilization left particularly realistic, either. A ruined Earth, as perhaps it should be presented, would take a horrific amount of time to build, and more time to explore than most of us would have patience with. I do wish they had tried, though.
