  1. It's weird to me that the Citizen Tsuono gets praised as great value for money, but Seiko SRPD's get slammed for being too expensive when you can buy them for a lot less. Funny old world

  2. Hey, took you up on an Ali Express 11/11 sale watch, a Pagani Design World Timer in red and gold with a President bracelet. I'm frankly shocked how much you get for 75 bucks. Their business model aside this one puts lesser Seikos to shame.

  3. Hey Jody, that Specht & Sohnne has either been corrected or you got one-off mistake. I picked up the black dial version (before your unboxing disaster) and the chronograph works exactly as expected. On my watch there is no running seconds, the second hand and 60-minute timer at 9 start/stop with the top pusher, and the bottom pusher resets. The functionality is 100% correct.

However, the bracelet is passable at best and a tad bit uncomfortable. But at least it's not broken like yours. 😂

  4. This year was the year I got into watches (thanks Alice Caldwell Kelly). I have 5 watches now, most of them being casio
Here is my top 5 I guess ?

    1. Casio AE1200
    Pros : everything
Cons: I guess I would have loved a steel case and sapphire but c'mon it's 30 bucks

    2. Casio F91w
Pros : c'mon it's an F91w. Insane looks, perfect size and thickness, rugged and simplistic. Also I love that the lighting is crap, adds to the charm imo
Cons: how can there be cons ? I got it for 5 bucks from a dude who just couldn't be bothered to change the battery

    3. Q Timex Falcon Eye
Pros : I MEAN JUST LOOK AT IT
Perfect size and lug design for me.
Cons : expensive for what it is, I got it for half its price during a sale
Not the greatest bracelet ever, and I really wish the entire q Timex range came with a more advanced movement like an ETA precidrive

    4.SKXMODS AE1200
Pros : well… Stainless steel and sapphire!
Cons: while the added heft is very enjoyable I just didn't really pick some of its specs right, as I was wholly inexperienced (it was my first watch purchase). Its comparatively low position is entirely on me

    5. Casio A100
    Pros : lovely look
Cons : very small pushers for somebody of my build, bad bracelet, pretty expensive brand new (got it on sale for 20)

This Christmas my lovely partner (who I got into watches as well hahahaha) is getting me a Seiko srpg39 and I can't wait to welcome my first mechanical.
So happy to have delved into this hobby. I've always been intrigued by wristwatches but never really had the occasion to jump in

  6. what do you guys think about SteelDive SD1975 (Tuna)? I really like the design and I'm on a fence of SD1970 (Cpt Willard) and SD1975 (Tuna), what do you think? Personally I think I like the design of Tuna more, but it's a little bit chunky on my wrist I suppose, but a love original Seiko and wanted to try out this kinda case and design. I'll be happy about any advice, thanks!

  7. “The new version doesn’t fit my wrist” is a ludicrous reason to take a crap on a watch. The new Lunar Pilot improved by deleting the date window that ruined the symmetry. Replacing the Bulova wordmark on the dial with an era-appropriate retro version was smart as well. And the blue panda version with the subtle texture on the dial is especially terrific.

  8. Great review but you’re wrong about the Bulova. Not that a watch should be marked down for sizing (except the Duro lord knows what they were thinking there) but the lunar pilot is made to the dimensions of the original, so the thinking is clear there. Plus it’s a pilot’s chrono and as such, it’s supposed to be bigger. 40 is too small for the purpose of a pilot. The interstellar is 42 and you raves about that one so what’s 1mm difference going to make? 🤷🏻
