I put 415 hours into this game already, gotta step away. I've gotten my moneys worth, but the content is so lacking. Sure, elite rotations and doing the same two dungeons sounds appealing at first, but that 600gs does literally nothing for you but give you a tiny advantage in PvP, which is so unbalanced and broken it's not even fun. Farming void is fun and all but what is the point? There is no true "end game" to work toward. I wanted so badly for this game to be good and I pushed through the terrible levelling/gearing process with that in mind and just don't feel rewarded at all. Hopefully it gets better in the next 6-12 months.
The eco is so bad, there is no real way to bring money into the game but there's infinite money sinks. Just seems like we're heading into a heavy p2w/p2p game and they're going to lose a majority of the playerbase if some of this doesn't get fixed.
All the bug videos have really pushed me off from buying it. Along with the fact that I don't have friends to play it with.
And this is why you Never, Ever pre order or purchase at launch Any game currently.
I'll say myself along with 98.5% of the community have not yet put 400+ hours into a game that's been out for a matter of weeks. Hit 60 and I'm having fun still gearing up and questing but if you live and breathe any videogame you are just going to be disappointed. Saying after 2k hours in destiny 2.

When I was a young and naive gamer, I used to whiteknight MMO's too. Now I realise what the MMO development cycle is, even for a cash rich studio like AGS. Once a game launches, the development team is laying the tracks ahead of the train so less of them are working on fixing what is wrong and desperately trying to add content instead. That aside though, whenever I find something that feels wrong in the game, I search the forums and without fail I always find a comment that says "we reported this x months ago in alpha/beta and it is still not fixed". This tells me that either AGS is not listening to feedback or they have zero clue how to fix their game.
I get why people love this game, the world is beautiful, the visual and audio feedback from everything is better than any other MMO out there, gathering and exploring is fun (until the later zones where you trip over insta-respawning mobs every 5 yards). If you poke your head outside that bubble though and actually care about the nuts and bolts of the different systems, the economy, how attributes and perks work (or dont), the viability of different armor and so on, then you start to see you are surrounded by broken mess with no real prospect for them to fix it. This is why people are mad, the game could be amazing but it is being run by blind amateurs.
Haven’t bought new world yet. Glad I didn’t because this seems to be another alpha level quality game where you pay to test a product.
Damn, even with all the problems, the game looks like shit with everyone uses the same 3 active abilities.
Already quit. New World is a mile wide and an inch deep. It needs 2 years more development time. Not even an exaggeration.

I know that there is a very large difference between the two but when I had to choose between New World and FFXIV for my new main, I went with Final Fantasy. I do hope you guys get the fixes you want as it would be interesting to try this game and is systems. But I have been watching and listening to people talk about it for a while and it just did not seem to be what it presented itself as.
