Well, this week has been really weird. It’s a tail of SpaceX Starbase Equipment Destroyed with them rapidly tearing down Suborbital Pad A (where they have don’t Starship static fires in the past). It seems there may be a lot more destruction to come as a second tower at the Gateway to Mars may be coming faster than you think. Elon Musk did describe the first stage of star link rollout as a weak business model. And the requirement for second stage launches is star ship.
On Starlink funding: when you know there there are government funds available, you geo-block service in a rural area until you get the funding. The government called Starlink's bluff on this. Starlink can stop prohibiting signups in a rural areas (which are already served) and acquire customers on its own, or govt gives money to someone else and they will acquire those customers.
The FCC is doing it for political reason because of your idiot of a president told the government to target Elon

In my opinion, SpaceX should work with Russia to build another SpaceX facility in Russia or perhaps Kazakhstan. The US Federal Government and NASA are not friendly towards SpaceX. Always a good idea for contingency plans. Also, the US Government is conflicted and financially uncertain or bankrupted

Hey Marcus, I was very excited when I first heard about Starlink. However, I've subsequently learned that their program is not all that it was professed to be. It's price for service and equipment is much to high for everyday people. And the cost in other countries is much less than it is here in the US. The problem with the 3 phases of this service is that people who want to be able to used the service on the go will have to pay $250/mo. Whereas the stay in one spot service will pay $125.00/mo. The equipment for the stay at home service is $500.+ with the mobile equipment is even more expensive. With these prices Starlink will lose lots of potential customers. The idea of being able to access the internet no matter where you are with Starlink is a pipe dream, unless you have a fat wallet. This turns out to be a pig-in-a-poke scenario. Promise the world and the give them something significant less.
This deal with Amazon and SpaceX was forced upon Amazon by its shareholders.
