  1. With Dragon's Dogma 2 on the horizon, I still have my fingers crossed for a Dragon's Dogma event in the Monster Hunter Wilds. I want to fight Grigori, that would be an awesome fight.

  2. Gotta agree with Gaijin.. I'm getting tired of fighting Rathalos for 4 generations now. I would even accept the Tigrex treatment where he isn't in the base game and added in the expansion. But it is what it is; he is the main flagship of the franchise like Pikachu.

  3. I always wonder when games are announced with so much time before release if people who are working on the game watch these videos and are like "write that down! write that down!" lol

  4. The storm makes me think of the Monster Hunter Movie, actually.

Im not saying we're getting an isekai. Dear Gog, please no. But the concept of this mysterious storm, and potential of ancient future-tech makes me think of that one bit of explanation from the movie, about how the portals in that movie were drom that tower that was made by the first civilization.

So probably not isekai, but i think we might be getting a greater glimpse into the the history and lore of the world of monster hunter.

  5. Why 4? They should GenU. yes it's on the switch but a native pc version could open the flood gates to all kinds of mods + it has palico mode and weapon styles. Juke it up to kinda Rise graphics and boom…. imo

  6. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: a company who sells layered armor, weapon skins, and non-default voices will never be chill with mods. The innocent mods are hitting their bottom line. Not saying I support it, but it's pretty black and white.

  7. regarding mods, i dont have a huge issue as long as it isnt disruptive to the intended experience. If you cheat in items, i have no issue as long as long as its something you would reasonably have at that point in the game. Cause if you cheat in extra potions cause you dont want to farm honeys, fine, i guess. I wouldnt even be able to tell you were cheating if you did that. But if you want to fight with a naked hunter, fine by me. Just dont come into my hunt and use a cheat-y weapon to perma status or insta kill the monster.

  8. Here is what I think is happening

    1. The group of monsters are called hoards its the more thought out version of a rampage.
    2. The music and the lighting I think is mankind messing with technology and fucking up the ecosystem (maybe the flagship is a mechanical or cyborg monster)
    3. The slinger is gonna sling stuff, be used as a ranged carve, and you can use it to hook the monster and fling your self towards it or around it (bow gun wirebug moves.)
    4. The bow gun is your second weapon you won't be able to change it and is used for mounted combat and as your main Arial attack weapon for monsters like rathalos.
    5. There will be mounted combat for both the gun and weapon.

I'll probably be wrong for all of this but hey that's what theory crafting is all about!

  9. If they were to do a remake of an older game, I'd personally want it to be 3 Ultimate over 4. But a lot of that is because Tri was my first game. I just want to play that in an even shinier version. Plus, Lagiacrus – best monster.

  10. I think they have announced this a little too early if it is releasing in approximately 1.5 to 2 years away. Usually there can be so many unknowns that can pop up. I would request people to tamper their expectations this far out.

  11. The more I think about it, the more I feel like an open world would actually be a perfect fit for Monster Hunter, because it allows for something we lost in Rise and World: scarcity. Monster Hunter has always had a big focus on preparation. What you bring into your hunt is what you have, and if you run out of items, your only option is to go gather and craft more. But now that we can restock items and change gear at the camp at any time in Rise and World, that element of strategy is kind of lost, and mid quest crafting as a mechanic is basically obsolete. But imagine an open world Monster Hunter, where rather than having a camp you can return to at any time, you have a mount with an expanded inventory. You can still return to the hub city at any time to restock, but when you’re out in the open world, all you have is your own inventory and your mount’s. Crafting would suddenly be so much more useful, and those elements of scarcity and strategy would be so much more prominent. I am a little worried how they’ll handle armor and weapons since I’m that kind of person that likes to use different sets for every quest, but I guess it just depends on how often you’ll return to the hub city.

  12. I think this game will take place in the “old world”. The tec aspect is from the ancient civilization and you’ve been sent here by the general we saw in iceborne through the fatalis story….The general says he’s interested in the slinger technology and Aiden says he’ll be home soon and there’s someone he’d like his master to meet. Bringing some of the “new world” back with him explains the scout flies and the slinger. I suspect the story arc for wilds was already written and Capcom threw in a little foreshadowing gem for us.

  13. With regards to the secondary weapon, I have a thought on it, maybe, there are heavy weapons and light weapons heavy being your main and light being the secondary but you can't carry 2 heavy, who knows

  14. My theory is something along the lines of an open world, you can equip 2 loadouts(1 on you, 1 on the mount) to bring on your expeditions/quests, the mount has a portable campsite on it for resting and cooking, and you need to return to a village in order to restock, craft, and swap loadouts. I think they should have multiple small villages, like 1 near each biome to serve as a fast travel point. The anniversary video could also serve as a platform to reveal the flagship for Wilds.

  15. While it would be cool to see Frontier in some form a remake of 1 with proper controls 4U makes the most sense to remaster for the anniversary. World was the one that really broke the mainstream but 4U was the first one i saw people going to midnight launches for. Theres also Freedom Unite but i feel like GU makes a lot of that redundant.

  16. I dont think a second weapon is supposed to make the game faster and more action heavy like scroll swap did.
I am expecting that with a larger map Capcom will make it harder for the player to just jump back to camp all the time and swap Sets and items in seconds.
Instead you have a mobile camp with you that contains a second weapon or even second armor set. And maybe you will be able swap weapons mid fight but i dont think it will add to faster hunts but rather add more preperation to the hunt since the second weapon will be your only way to quickly adjust your build.

But also i dont think Capcom will completely force preperation on you. So i expect it to be a thing were you have the option to hunt multiple monsters and do multiple quests in one go as long as you are well prepared and dont have to go back to the main camp.
In the end it would be your decision if you want to spend with preparation or spend time running back to camp.

Edit: ahhh i paused the video and didnt notice that you two were having the same idea

  17. I just want to fight against brand new monsters and new terrains/maps, having the same monsters from previous titles gets very dull and annoying. If they want to bring back monsters from older gen-games, pick at least ones that haven't had enough time in the spotlight like Agnaktor or Najarala. Also new and unique turf wars is something else I personally looking forward to.

  18. My speculation is it is hot podge of ideas of MH team::
    – weather/season system (MHDos)
    – Progression of map exploration for quest ( MH4U)
    – environmental mechanics
    – turf war upgrade ( with packs) / Invader system
    – World IB guiding lands
    – Risebreak Optional quest/sub quest and weapon/ skill set swap
    – Return of limited items for the journey

  19. As far as the main base area is concerned I hope that the base is a moving ship that just floats around the map. That way you still have a spot to get missions and forge weapons but most of the game is you traveling ,exploring, and hunting in a effort to develope the new land. Also I kinda hope there aren't any camps. It would be way more interesting to just use your mount for all camp based stuff and actively farm your extra supply of gear.

  20. hmmm to be fair the double weapons sorta reminds me of stories 2 where you have 3 different weapons depending on the monster, i mean maybe they are taking a little bit of inspiration with that i mean we may not get 3 weapons but being able to carry around two is just as good. Idk how they would implement switching weapons in this game specifically but it is an intriguing thought process.
