I use to watch the A-10 practice in the Ski Channel at Lake Bistineau, Louisiana.
Lake Bistineau ski Channel is wide enough for two boats to ski past each other.
Because Lake Bistineau is a Cyprus Tree swamp.
My Father was a Crewchief on the A-10 at Barksdale AirForce Base in a Reserve Unit before John McCain pulled the Attack/Fighter Wing in Budget negotiations.
Anywhosal, when the A-10's were practicing mapping ground attacks in the Ski Channel went back to the base with Cypress tree tops stuck in the engine intake and damage to the wing leading edge.
I love the A-10 as much as the boys in the Afghan/Iraq wars on the ground seeking cover.
