The irony of showing a tokamak when saying, “fission reactor”
You have no idea what u r Talking about. Educate yourself about soviets first. Calling them Russians is like calling Americans Germans!
😂🤣😂🖕
Sounds a lot like starships future
Oh we have pretty good idea what would happen if Soviets got to the moon first. It's called For All Mankind and it's absolute banger of a TV serie
"Your channel is something very very special. Top 3 on YouTube for this type of programming in my opinion. It boggles my mind almost as much as the information you provide in the shows, how you only have half a million subscriber’s. I feel like I’m getting in early on a community with the potential to reach 10 million subscribers or more. Just fantastic ground breaking work you’re doing here my friend. I’m honored to be a part of it. I will be making donations to the channel going forward. Thank you for what you’re doing from Canada.
🙏💫🇨🇦🍻"
I love the fact that this guy is thrashtalking the N1 while litterally drooling on starship and spacex, elon said that he got his inspiration from korolev for developping the starship and it really show, the soviet built the n1 then tested it entirely, and adapted from every failures, or at least that was the plan, while nasa built the saturn v cautiously taking time and ressources that they had, after the war their marshall plan brought a sh*t ton of money (for a mere 13 billions dollars of investment) they could have done anything with it. The soviet union didn't lose because of their ideology, they lose because they just lost 26 millions peoples to the nazis (so that's damn impressive that they got this far in the first place) they had used all their ressources in their army in order to push back the germans and imediately they faced a new threat that had done little to no fighting at all in the war (just nuked the japaneses and organized the d day with the british while the nazis were focused on the soviets).
The u.s have been insanely lucky, the U.K empire had fallen, and everybody in the world were just unable to put a fight after all what happened, the japaneses were traumatized, the chineses just had their civil war and the ccp won, the soviets were in ruins after a decades long civil war and theirs losses to operation barbarossa, europe was to be rebuilt, africa was still colonized, and south america was poor and already controlled by the C.I.A and their motto "rubble poses no troubles". After this nightmare for the entire world, no one could had ever hope to resist to another empire. The united states took a world in ruin, made sure it would stay in ruin, and became the first power not because they had any plans to do so in the first place, or better way of doing things than others, it was an accident, again they were insanely lucky.
As for the space race ? We see the same thing happening today with starship and new glenn and for a long time peoples said that blue origin would never put anything into orbit, and proceed to make a damn cult out of spacex.
Now nasa is saying that the New Glenn will fly before Starship. It's like history is repeating itself, musk launch the first re usable rocket therefore he's the first billionaire to reach space between the two, he has he's success and all, and then bezos finally catch up with his projects being cautiously developped and (maybe) make musk bite the dust.
Musk is the soviet union (but not ideologically) and Bezos is the united states (yes ideologically too).
I wonder how long it will take until musk fall while bezos rise? He's much more calm to the others elites than the libertarian musk, who clearly take too much place among the most powerfuls peoples.
It's a real history of betrayals among the wealthy the ones that take too much space are generally the mains targets among others that are jealous of their power, and the elites are divided today, neo cons, neo liberals, libertarians… All shares the sames ambitions but not the same ideologies or interests, and that can only create tensions. Musk may seem more powerful by each passing days, but he's as much powerful as he is isolated from the rest. This year was amazing for him, but also stressful, so much so that i believe we are about to reach the apogee of musk era, i wouldn't be surprise if it was next year, just need to see the new glenn fly. Artemis is a doomed prodram, there's so much flaw in it that's it's just ridiculous, one miss step and everything crumble. An excelent oportunity to get rid of spacex and switch to bezos, if he buy ULA and take it's New Glenn to space, while SLS is too costly and Starship isn't near to be ready, then he'll have a complete monoply over the american space program, i predict it will entirely change course.
And that would the best for them, the situation with only the falcon 9 operational while they are losing the delta iV heavy and the Atlas V is simply unsustainable, nothing seem to be really planified after 2027.
I'd say that for musk it's a run against the clock right now, i don't really worry about him i'm sure he'll be fine as a person, he'll just lose all of his influence, as for musk fanboys the next thing to do for them is to go see a damn psy.
And too be clear i'm a complete outsider to all of this, i'm just witnessing with popcorn, i root for neither musk nor bezos, i hate both of them, and i equally despise the U.S and the U.S.S.R. We will see whether or not musk manage to keep the status quo a little longer or if he's just so incompetent and mad about his situation that everybody just suddenly lose interest in him.
The real reason it failed is they tried to make it out of concrete.
So the competent guy was knocked off the politically-connected incompetent guy. Russia in a nutshell.
1:52 lol you can say this about every failed project ever. "It would have been awesome if only it didn't suck so bad."
The N1 would have been successful regardless, given the chance. It was always planned to require multiple test launches to get it right with their iterative approach of engineering the thing. Very similar to how SpaceX do things today.
the soviets were never really ahead. they just grabbed the low hanging fruit.
We don't know if NASA ever stopped. A half trillion dollars a year are unaccounted for every year.
They never had a chance, Communism is a complete & utter FAILURE !!!
If there did a full thrust test on the N1, they would figured out the issue on day one.
Taking shortcuts are really bad and the Soviet Moon program is a great example of that.
N1 moon rocket was a great design, plumbing for the engines, not so much but nothing that could not be fixed.
Soviet is the name of the ship 😮
A very interesting "what if" scenario about how are space race could have gone. It's possible we have gone to Mars at some point.
We need to remove the pussian module from the American space station. Sanctions don't work unless they cover everything.
interesting 'what if'' but it was Serge Korolev's death in 1966 which sealed the fate of this mission. Getting the N1's 32 rockets to fire together and fly straight was something the Soviets could not master (Hence the two disastrous launches). Korolev might have found a way but ti was not to be.
Everything the USSR did during the space race was basic. their space program was nowhere near NASA'S.
