Cities Skylines 2 – THIS NEW PATCH UPDATE IS BIG!

Welcome back to Cities Skylines 2, which just received it’s largest patch update yet and I think this game update provides some important fixes and improvements to the game. Headline fixes include the mail service, and goods: imports, exports and storage. Alongside other miscellaneous gameplay fixes from pathfinding to roads and elevation. This update also features Graphics and UI fixes & improvements. Performance improvements and fixes do not feature much in this patch. Towards the end of the video I discuss the role of this update. While it’s the most comprehensive update we’ve seen so far, I’m not convinced this is the MAJOR update we were promised for December. TBC.

  1. Great video overview! They have fixed two out of three of my biggest gripes (mail and export/import storage issues), the last big thing that I hope they fix in the next patch is a better traffic AI management especially when it comes to lane switching and more. It drives me nuts!

  2. Sounds to me like this game should have never been released when it did. Seems like these fixes are basic to game itself but all of this needed to be re-engineered to work in CSII. And no word on performance in this update.

  3. The problem with this game is that the actual gameplay isn’t fun. Nothing seems to matter. Nothing seems to make sense. Adjusting taxes is overly complicated and isn’t realistic. The simulation just seems to not really matter. I don’t know if that’s bugs or design but it doesn’t seem like any kind of improvement over CS1 in terms of a real city simulation. The new road tools and the UI are nice I guess. I don’t even necessarily think the graphics are better. The assets are just more ‘realistic’ if not very boring and repetitive, which is no better than CS1. It’s just a different aesthetic.

  4. I thought it was funny to spot quite a few errors in the "gameplay" shown (helicopter going through buildings, cars going through each other, smoke coming out the sides of the stack, etc.) while he's describing all the fixes. 🙂

  5. Ive got about 4-5 hours into this game and i love it but i think im doing somthing wrong. Ill have a all city of 3-4000 people and all the things like police and fire and whatnot but then eventually a bunch of my buildings say abandoned and Catch fire, i have the first fire station option the cheaper one and it says not being used or low usage and still things are catching fire and people are moving out

  6. This game…. love it and hate it at the same time.
But the main issues i have is lack of variable structures, like a Police station for high poplulated area, school etc too… where is rural train station?
This game feels like a milking cow by the devs…. have to get 20 dlc to make the game you want, thats sad.
