Talking about my experience with tactical rpg that is Dark Envoy, an indirect sequel to another title known as Tower of Time.

Hi Mortismal. Big thanks for the review! Amazing to see 100% Review of your game before it's even out 🙂 The problems you encountered in review version we addressed in 1.0 version. Performance is siginificantly improved, unresponsiveness is also improved but we'll keep working on it. Autonomous AI is a bit more problematic and will require us to invest more time into the rules, we don't give up on this though.
Fair review. Still, as a fan of the storytelling and atmosphere of ToT I believe that after some patching this is recommended purchase IMO.
free comment =)
It very much looks like a unity game. I hope the bs of that company isnt retroactive.
Waited for this game a long time. Can't even remember when I added it to my list, must be years haha!
Would you draw parallels to the shadowrum games? I kinda like the linearity as I cN only game on and off for an hour or two and open world games are just to big for me
Let's hope the responsiveness problem will be fixed soon. It's merely annoying in turn-based but a deal breaker in real time even with pause/slow
Thumbnail artefact girl -> I was like why is Shadowheart in Dark Envoy lol 😂
Man, I love the art style in this game!
Okay but why is Shadowheart and the relic on the cover?
11:53 In Divinity: Original Sin, you need to max your crafting in order to add nails to shoes. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.
Real time puts me off immediately sadly.
I like the art style of the game, definitely interested in seeing how much RP is in this G
Excited to see if there's an Endless Dungeon review in the future
I have this game on my wishlist cause I was assuming it would be turn based. Bit of a disappointment they changed the system for it.
I hope a couple of good DLCs will solve the lack of quests and the atrocious AI problems then we will have a fun ARPG.
Thanks for another helpful review. I liked the first game so I will give this a try.
1:57 Oh that story sounds interesting, perhaps I''ll try it.
I didn't know it was a spin off- "Anyway at the end of it humans gotta abandon the planet.""
Well, nevermind then. 😂
Damn you fast.
Do I need to play the 1st game to enjoy this game's story? It looks like that's the case, right? Story is very important for me in games.
I don't know why, but all this reminded me of UFO Afterlight of all games…
lmao, for some reason I thought this was a first impression till half way through the video. Very hyped to see more from the tower of time folks.
Realtime combat may have just tipped the scale on me deciding to buy it
was not going to buy it, but damn you sold it to me
Not knowing Tower of Times, the video is sometimes not as helpful as it could be as you often refer to something I don't know. However, the video does give enough information for me to make a decision about buying that game, so thank you for it.
This game got a little old for me after 10 or 12 hours. The dungeons are very small and have very little diversity. I do enjoy the combat but had to crank up the difficulty a little as it’s pretty easy on normal. Still plan on finishing it, just have slowed down a bit.
One question: does this game have a lot of puzzles?
It was the one thing I really didn’t like about tower of time. Constant puzzles between encounters
It takes some time to get used to the Combat. Hope they patch the unresponsives because the Game itself is totally fine and a welcome diversion after playing "BG3" and "Starfield".
thanks for testing this on the Steam Deck! Was looking at picking this up for the Steam Deck but I'll pass and keep a look out for patches in the future.
Just found it on the steam store and immediately hoped you had reviewed it.
You never disappoint, friend! Thanks for the in depth review, I'll certainly pick it up
A video request. Can you make a video on TRPGs or stealth ROGs games with real time combat? Like say for example, Shadow Gambit? Can’t find a good resource anywhere online. Thanks!
Glad we got you. This isn't for me but I'm glad u play these and I can see if it's up to par with what I enjoy.
I loved Tower of Time so much…
Mort is one of my favourite reviewers for RPGs
When do you think that this game will be released on console like Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox?
Nice
This channel is so good! That being said, it's hard to tell if mortim is actually excited for a game or not. Maybe his lack of emotion is having to do with the amount of games he's played that he's already anesthetized or he's just like that. One thing that I look forward from reviewers is to see if they are genuinely excited about a game. Still, this is one of the best review channels or maybe the best one.
