Trucking is not just a job… It's a way of life ! – 'Class' is a clean truck.
Steve / W5BIB – OTR 1977-2009
My daddy has drove any truck his boss put him in one of them the floor broad would get really hot my daddy would stop and get a bag of ice and put down at his feet
Great advice from a company and team that is putting in the work!
A 86 PET
If your refurb that truck yourself it wont be done for 3 or 4 years
I've had a CDL since 2012 and have hauled hay and some equipment but still have trouble finding a good job that will give you a chance. I'm an Army Veteran who is tired of struggling trying to provide for my family.
I started with my uncle's truck in the early eighties he gave it to me but then the wife said she wasn't going to raise a family with no dad being out on the road 37 years ago averitt hired me everything I have now is bought and paid for it's not all about the money it's about life and family first and I am glad all of you are doing well especially after the fire❤
Now if I can get in to an old Freightliner cabover with a double bunk I might think about getting back on the road again LOL love you folks ever since the fire when I first found it on YouTube❤
Try being a school bus driver. You can make $10,000 a year if your lucky.
Hey Tim man good video you are straight awsome boss your only asking for a person with a work ethic I see so many guys complain about no miles but yet don’t want to work
Both of you all brought up a very good point when you are representing a company and you go into the shipper and receiver don't look like a hobo walk in like professional at least have a shirt for all the drivers that says Gentry and Sons Trucking I've been in this industry for 40 years first impression is the best
I perfer 62 to 65 safety is key for my monthly bonus i like videos like this gets me to thinking about this or that because we are all human we might forget this or that
I look at it this way if somebody puts you in their truck and you plan on being there it's your truck take care of that truck if you don't you do not need to be in that truck and I would hate to see the inside of your home😊
As a fellow brother serving king Jesus Abba father
May he guide you in all the work you do …..
Get ahold of waltco tallmadge Ohio a power tail lift company they need products moved
I have worked at a operating facility with between 1500-2500 people and everytime you mention "driver" in this video applies 100% to just about every person we've ever hired or let go. Communication, respectful, tactful, punctual, good representative, language, appearance… every single one of thoise qualities you mentioned applies accross the board at any "good" company. And as you'vem netionbed several times, the supervisors (of which I am) and managers absolutely set the standard. Expec tations… what an excellent word. Awesome video!
Truth
Are you looking to hire any new/more semi truck/trailer mechanic/mechanics at all?
This is one of the best videos ive watched….so down to earth, straight forward…great to see its still in the go ..especially now..thanks again Tim and Ashley…stay safe…god bless you all
Man quit talking so much about your business. You need to listen to your older people more than you talking so much
If I'd ever get the chance to come work for you I'd want a Mack Ch613
GREAT VIDEO! Miss Ashley and Tim, I wish I could get every high schooler I know to watch this video and learn some lifelong lessons, whether they go into trucking or another line of work. Present themselves well, give more than is expected, and work for a small company where they can talk to the boss every day instead of layers of management. Well done, you two. This is probably my all time favorite youtube video. Keep up the good work.
Hey gentryandsons i sent you guys an email regarding to the opportunity. Hope to hear from you
I have all but respect for the entire Gentry and Sons Trucking i have watched yall grow from your first will it start to this video. when i watch your videos i react to things just like Tim does when it happens as a business owner. Thank yall for the awesome videos and treating everyone even just youtube viewers like family. lots of love from me
I can’t find that email online ?
I understand what your saying about the old cab over trucks; my own father used to work for a local John Deere dealership and he had to drive an old GMC cabover don't remember the model at all, but it was always awesome to go ride with my dad in that semi especially when I was younger in life because I could take my shies off & stretch right on out and place my feet up against the windshield and relax with the passenger window down which I could actually reach the window control power switch on the other side of the doghouse. So then dad could keep both hands & eyes on the roadway ahead of him instead of him taking eyes & hand off of steering wheel which could always be dangerous in that kind of truck.
What kinda trucks did you start with? Just bought a glider 2012 12.7 950k for 23k. People are saying it needs inframed soo. Haha maybe or maybe not. Nice truck other than high mileage.
Y'all are gonna make it big time!! If I lived closer I would come talk to you because you have the values that I like!! God Bless you and Thank You. A truck driver understands what it takes to do the job but most company owners don't understand what it takes just to drive.
As an owner operator with 2 trucks and only me to drive with so much work Im hiring other trucks to help cover it…. Trying to find a driver that can do what I need with no luck. This really hits home
I have always wanted to get into driving. As I've got older and been a father i have thought about what would be better as far as local or long haul. But i have been turned down just trying to get my cdl. I have about given up on it. But i do know about having to put the leg work in. Being a homesteader and trying to run my own business and side jobs, it takes a lot. You all have worked hard to get where you are. I hope you are able to meet your goals, i am certain if you don't it won't be because you failed to do your part. Congratulations on your success.
Timmy does everything he’s saying he doesn’t want in a driver on his channel. Kinda hard to say one thing and do another. He has to have 700hp, he videos with phone while driving, no seat belt and more. Set an example by showing what a good driver is, not telling.
Don’t sell your soul for a company that won’t do the same for you.
LTL is pretty good. I work M-F running line haul at night pulling doubles. I make $100k+ a year with good benefits.
12:58 represents the company good? What size shirt he wear, send him some nicer shirts.
Keeping that left door closed is the main part of it. There's no profit in being a truck stop cowboy!!! Its really not a hard thing to figure out
Set an example on cleanliness and clean the windows in your 379.
I've been an owner op for 30 yrs I was always working on my truck on the road or at home to keep moving no runny no money doing open frieght flatbed step deck an heavy haul rgn an rgn stretch trailers now I'm at home with health issues I miss the open road alot I really miss heavy haul oversized hauling I would of loved to run that new volvo u guys had
So I just got my CDL class a no restrictions an been watching y'all's channel a while an just seen this so y'all do hire entry level drivers that just got there CDL?
Invaluable knowledge shared from those that already have tons of experience. Best way to learn! -Brandon
300k a year and pay 89k for taxes not very good odds thats a lot of money to pay biden lol
Tim I was wondering if you had any advice for me I'm trying to get my CDL but I'm having trouble getting a grant or financial assistance for the school what should I do? By the way this video was very informative
A big lesson right off the bat from Trip, sometimes you gotta eat your shoe to get the big one after…but that involves the dispatcher understanding and taking care of his drivers. You do a favor and he screws you after is where I see a lot of the discontent in the trucking industry.
Funny how you telling them they shouldnt drive with low tire pressure and keep windows clean…but you on the other hand drive while filming videos with your phone and reading comments while driving hmmm
What's taken so long in the Kenworth t-600 wrecker truck
Mrs. Gentry, I like your hair color.
Hey Tim,If I was 20 years younger so I could make you a good hand I would be down there asking for a job.I’ve been driving 44 years this year but the last 4 part time, I retired for about 2 weeks and had to get back to it.I been with this company in Tompkinsville Ky for the past 24 years and going to stay until I just can’t do it anymore. I can’t make a hand because I’m just too old, almost 67. But y’all are doing it right and I just wish I could work for you, but I can’t pound the ground like I used to.
Fraud.
