  1. Acco: "If you're excited about OW2 you're a moron"
Also Acco: "I'm not saying don't be excited about it"
    xD

But for real though… I don't like being told I'm a moron but I still love you Acco.

  2. Hold up… so being excited that the PvP you have already paid for is finally getting updates after being dead for a long time makes you an idiot? They will likely make the PvP free to play as well, which will bring in more population. The ONLY people who will buy the sequel are the ones who want the PvE content; they are the ones getting something for throwing down money… so guess what? They aren't idiots either. Sure, it is about making more money, and of course we should have been having these updates coming in this whole time but this is a bad take imo.

  3. You definitely dont need to buy overwatch 2 to enjoy the pvp…. Buuut this is shit that shoulda been updated in the regular game. If the pve is a brand new game it would need to be absolutely massive

  4. lets see
full pvp revamp ( not all changes in beta yet some heros is untouched )
full pve with full skill trees for all heros ( that is alot of work )
all the progress of old overwatch going to passed down to overwatch 2
all owners of overwatch 1 will recieve the pvp changes
all owners of overwatch 1 will play pvp with overwatch 2 players
    new systems unannounced yet
the beta test is only for pvp there is alot of models etc is still missing
basicly you getting story mode for the money and as dev time it takes huge time to produce the team has been doubled two times just to make that .
    so yep it is sequel
even if they say it is DLC do you think dlc that has been in work for more than 3 years going to priced like 20 or 30 dollars ?!

  5. It's just terrible marketing. Why would you call it a sequel when it isn't? And by no means is this a legitimate sequel to the original. I'm not even sure how you could make that argument. It's literally the exact same game with some minor changes you'd expect in a patch and a story mode. People saying it feels like a new game are in denial and probably just happy that Blizzard hasn't shitcanned the game entirely at this point.

  6. I mean, everything you asked for is coming for free in Overwatch 2. new maps, new heroes, existing hero reworks and new abilities, and a new game mode. I agree that it's not much of a sequel, and more of a huge patch, but I'm also getting said patch for free, so I don't really care what they call it.

  7. Of course I'm excited about it, I'm not paying them shit. I paid $15 for this game. AND ONLY ONCE. Never bought any skins(except the Mercy one, but that was for charity, or so they claimed). So, I'm not seeing what the issue is.

  8. I’m going to hold sharing the same opinion you do until I play it. I’m afraid you’ll probably be right – but if the PvE is really flushed out, I’m willing to drop that $60 for it

  9. The thing that worries me the most is that people who own Overwatch 1 have the game upgraded for free to Overwatch 2. I remember when Warcraft 3:Reforged did something similar by upgrading the old version of the game. The original version of Overwatch would then be unplayable. This should just be an expansion. There’s only been 1 new hero in like 2 years. Blizzard hasn’t even released a game since 2016 (Reforged doesn’t count). They released Overwatch in 2016, cut support for the game, announced Overwatch 2 in 2019, it’s now 2022 and there’s only one new hero, a few maps, some hero reworks. And if people don’t like it, they won’t even be able to play the original game:

  10. Ok but their is reason to be exited if your a fan. First they reworked a lot of heroes taking away most of the cc in the game.(letting you actually play the game now)
Tank players had a terrible time in ow1 now they have a lot more power.
The changes to the gameplay are far more impactful than any balance patch. It doesn’t feel like a game of stay in a ball and farm ults.

And most importantly they removed 2cp screw that mode

  11. OW2 IS JUST A RESKIN OF THE 1ST GAME!!! it's a DLC not really a new game.
if they wanted to make OW2 unique they should add a skill tree to the Abilities and Ultimates.
for example (Junk Rat mine) one has a bigger blast radius OR the other can explode automatically if someone gets too close.

The only good thing about OW2 is the story mode like a Left for dead game.
    I am not buying OW2 at full price. I'll pay $25- $30
3:12 don't talk about LoL vs OW. people only really play one map in that game and that's the jungle. if wanna compear go with Apex or something in the same genre.

  12. Like, it's crazy to me how popular the game still was considering how little content it gets. But I guess it's just weird to me because I actually prefer Paladins and looking at Overwatch I just know I wouldn't be able to stick with it. I'm use to getting regular updates. Something that, for all Hi-Rez's faults, to which there are of course many, they are quite good at delivering. I really can't think of an update that was objectively bad in a long time, since like.. Open Beta 64, which was notoriously fucking bad because it made the game pay to win for a few patches. (Yeah yeah I have shit taste and all that, heard it before xD)

  13. A money grab,but its free 🤔
Seriously who give the fuck what they call the PvE a new game or a dlc or a patch or whatever the fuck it is.
Its gonna be 60$ anyway whats the fucking different?

  14. I'm pretty sure it's more of a money sink than a money grab. They've obviously made some bad decisions in terms of focusing on OW2 instead of updating the main game, and the name OW2 will confuse people since it's really more of a PVE expansion to the original game than a new game built from scratch. These are all things I think risk costing Blizzard profits since it will make the new game harder to market. They should have just called it Overwatch X or some other random sounding title and no one would think there was anything odd about it. But I don't think there's any reason to think greed is a motivating factor behind OW2.

  15. wait, isnt ow 2 free for people who owns ow1 ?
So technically if ur paying, its for pve content only and people are calling it cash grab ? haha
Its like a free dlc and people are angry about it

  16. engine is different and heroes play different now. and league of legends is a dying game because of all these champion OP bullshit. you have no idea what overwatch is about, balancing overwatch is more important then your new heroes you want. the new devs are on it. and you are talking way too negative about the current devs. its a beta available now. and the new devs are working on bettering the game.

  17. Accolonn – "If you're excited about OW2 you're a moron! It's a money grab!"
    Me – "Yes, and?" 👾

OW2 PvP upgrade is free. 5v5 with 1 tank feels WAY better & I actually SHOOT AT PLAYERS, not barriers. New Map designs are filled with flanks & side-routes. Besides, do we KNOW 100% it's $60? I don't remember them announcing the price.

Also, Accolonn, you're saying this as a WoW guy, where you pay the box price & a monthly sub. It's been a cash grab since forever ago, bud, lmfao.

  18. but…he said they should have made it a DLC which it is… the pvp changes are FREE, you get them for 0 bucks when OW2 drops… it is pretty much a DLC because you pay for a pve gamemode… not the pvp… the pvp is FREE let me state that again… so how is it a money grab if people want to pay for a pve gamemode in a pvp focused game…?
    what
he also says this while playing WOW, legit a game where you have to pay OVER AND OVER again to PLAY the damn game, atleast when I purchase overwatch I can play it for the rest of my life without worrying they'll eat my wallet over time.

  19. I would agree with you if you had to pay for the entire game again but if you just want to play multiplayer and already own OW1, the game is free, so I can't see how you can be mad about that. You only have to pay if you want to access the PvE stuff. I agree that it shouldnt have been called OW2 because it IS basically just a patch but again, the multiplayer is free, so I can't be mad honestly.

  20. I don't agree cause the pvp is free for ow1 owners and i only care about pvp and from what ive seen they have made a lot of small changes to maps, characters and i think 5v5 is gonna make the game a lot more fun. I do agree that for new players it shouldn't be 60$ tho.

  21. As someone that used to like Overwatch despite the PvP, I can't deny that the PvE campaign got me excited, and the PvP portion of the game can die in a fire for all I care. Because of that, I am still waiting for the PvE portion to be properly announced, and I may preorder after either the open beta (where I can test myself) or the first patch (after the honeymoon reviews are over).

Said that, given that OW1 have not received any new significant updates since 2019, the "PvP OW2 patch" can basically be summed up as Blizzard stockpiling 3 years of content that they should had dripped through regular updates, and are dumping them all at once and calling it OW2. They are not giving us more than we would had received if the pre-2019 update schedule was maintained to this day, which was 2 maps and 3 heroes per year. Oh, and also they are dropping an entire gamemode and 5 maps are going to the ether with it. So it's actually a net negative over regular schedules.

My cynical side also keep whispering that the main reason they are calling it OW2 now is because Jeff Kaplan made it very clear that OW1 would never sell heroes, maps or game modes. So making it "OW2" makes Blizzard free to ignore that promise because it's no longer the same game.

  22. Nice rant but up to now we don't really know how much they charge and for what content you actually have to pay. Last rumors were that all pvp changes is free so pve Missions would be the content you buy. If they didn't change strategy and go free 2 play or something.
Totally agree that it's a dlc / upgrade and not a sequel because it's just some new maps and hero changes, and less as if they kept their original release pace.
But i cannot call it money grab and be toxic about it without knowing about the money or the content.
If pve is great, I'm thinking like borderlands meets diablo 3 or so, in happy to pay money. I really like to play coop pve games with friends and this could be a nice one.

And by the way I play overwatch since release. I bought the basic version for 40 and never bought a single lot box. Yet I got several maps and heroes and a game I played for years with free servers. Playing 60 would already be worth all the time I already spent with ow 1.
Still I will wait, I will play the beta and then decide where the money goes. We had enough cyberpunk and Battlefield to know not to preorder our believe and trailer our statement.
