i wish maybe after GXk they would continue this tone for the entire monsterverse, its awesome to see monster battles, but i just hope they would make it darker in tone, cause we're talking about giant monsters, realistically, its no time to joke around about things like that.

ngl it's wasn't clear that the KC hat wearing guy IS a young Bill Randa, John Goodman's character. Maybe there's a show don't tell with Cate passport but it went over my head. Need to rewatch the scenes
Just being nitpicky (like someone else), this was not a great episode to start off. It was borderline boring. There were some great moments with the 2014 movie tie-in. Hoping next one is better.

So far, I find Monarch: Legacy of Monsters to be slightly above mid so far. It's not great but it's entertaining enough. The human characters are the focus and so far, I don't like the half bro to the lead Japanese actress. He acts like a prick towards her. So rude.
Wyatt Russell again like he was in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn't likable either. He has this face you want to punch. His dad is portraying the older version of that character and I think it's safe to say Kurt Russell is far more likable than his son. They're mostly using archive of Godzilla from the 2014 film. I want to see new scenes of him.
I still don't love the Legendary design of Godzilla. Everyone praises it but I don't like how fat he looks and I don't like the sound of his roar compared to the classic Japanese ones. The Minus One Godzilla might be smaller since they're going back to the 1954 roots but he looks more of the Godzilla I usually have in my mind.
I'll continue to watch Monarch weekly but it's not super impressive so far. I enjoyed Loki Season 2 far more and it's rated lower than their Season 1. Monarch is on the level of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and Gen V. Between okay and good.

2014 Godzilla isn’t bad because Godzilla isn’t the focus, it’s bad because there isn’t an ounce of compelling drama to fill that void. To me it always felt like that movie couldn’t decide what kind of movie it wanted to be.
