About the joke of the XSX controller usind AA batteries, well you can just use Panasonic Eneloop or any rechargeable AA batteries.
The portal connects using a 2.4 ghz wifi frequency. All Bluetooth connections also run on 2.4 ghz frequencies. Because of how important the connection is for the stream on the handheld having Bluetooth on at the same time could cause crosstalk between the frequencies. Affecting both audio quality and stream quality.

Can you imagine if Sony did a holiday pack-in with the PS5, and the Portal for around $600? That's a more digestible price for me at least. The most important thing is to understand the Portal is more like a Wii U than a fully portable handheld.
