First off, get well soon. Sorry about what you been going through. I wishlisted the game on steam, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad we got options to choose what we want to to instead of just forcing us to be the hero. It's a nice push for more ambitious monster taming games if this plays out. I am somewhat hyped about this game. This looks like a game I can get into.
I'm personally looking for something that doesn't have those darker elements at all but also breaks out of turn based combat. I want basically Pokemon if none of the darker elements existed at all.
Spoilers
From my perspective practically every monster catcher has dark elements, some of them seemingly in opposition to Pokemon itself which ironically makes it feel like dark stuff is the most prevalent and we're mostly talking about degrees.
Digimon doesn't shy away from people and monsters dieing at all, people being unsavable, cruel hierarchys, questionable moral choice's, gives you the ability to break your own partners down into data to make others stronger or force them into permanent fusions and almost always is about some world ending disaster.
Yokai Watch is cute on the surface but yokais are created when people die. Yokai can die and then have to deal with the bag of worms that is resurrection and this is another universe where they're dealing with questionable hierarchys and wars with lasting consequences.
Monster Hunter Stories especially the second game is about explicitly killing monsters in life and death situations and preserving the balance of nature.
Shin Megami Tensei doesn't even need to be discussed.
Nexomon has darker undertones throughout it's story and makes it clear that people can die then at the end mentions the hypocrisy of enslaving creatures and calling them friends then does nothing to answer that statement. Then in the end you go into the guarded after life to perma kill the souls of the big bads. Reincarnation is a thing here as well.
Dragon quest monsters is about the same as Digimon.
Monster Crown is about the same as Digimon
Monster sanctuary is about the same as Digimon
Fossil Fighters is cute but your basically resurrecting dead dinosaurs and have an end of humanity/the world scenario.
Spectrobes is about stopping this dark lord type guy from taking over the universe.
And alot of Pokemon Rom hacks and fan games that change the story pretty much just introduce dark elements with death, mutations, apocalyptic scenarios and references to dark stuff in the past.
What I want is something like the Pokemon anime where the characters have different adventures and come across mysteries all the time. Like if you put Pokemon in Skyrim and had a bunch of different quests, mini games and random events going on that weren't necessarily dark and had BioShock like dialogue choices. And have the game be an action game so that you have more interactivity in it, Legends Arceus but the trainer has the interactivity of Mario or link. And make the games a better version of the Digimon world pet Sims battles where you can give commands to your partners to execute in real time. Almost all the games in this genre are turned based.
It's like the only way people seem to be able to make a story is to basically make things dark and have the easy response that comes with dark things causing shock value that stays in your head instead of something that's wholly positive yet memorable.
The music I feel like is SOOOO GOOOD MAN. Every single time I hear the music I just feel so excited for the game.
ArkXPokemon lol
Will play if it come to console
this game is perfect it have elemental, rpg, sandbox, adventure, gun/weapons, hit & run in boss fight, testing stuff
We GOTTA be careful tho.. the same team behind craftopia.. a full price early acsses game in development… for several years now.. and with o recent updates we gotta look out and make sure it's not the same
"Pokemon + realism" is an old joke that have been told many times before, but pal other is first how is "repeting it louder" and actually making game with this concept.
Good or bad, it will make waves.
I’ve swept this game under the rug due to thinking it was just a shooter. But damn, the concepts they’re introducing have me in on it now
I am highly anticipating this game. I do love the meme aspect but I have always wanted my Pokémon play through as a team rocket member and this is the closest I’ll get. Co-op is also amazing as my friends can get it too. Also this may not be a popular opinion but I actually like the designs for what they are. They do look a little fakemon but honestly I can deal with that because there are some genuinely good designs. I think many people cannot get past the shock factor guns but it looks like there can be massive potential in this game.
well that game looks… intriguing
One thing that is not mentioned here is the company making the game. If you’ve ever heard of a game called Craftopia you’ll notice a lot of the content is recycled from that game.
The company is notorious for making teaser trailers with features that are not in the game yet either. That being said Craftopia is still super fun, I have hundreds of hours into the game. But it is super clunky, and is very poorly translated into English.
This game is basically digimon megas with guns and cutesy pokemon-like designs in an open world with 3pov shooters. 🤣
I love this concept this will set a new genre for monster taming
My only worry about this game is that the devs' previous game was left unfinished up to this date.
I don't suppose this game is single player is it?
I agree, and hope u get better dude!
Thank you so much Ed for consistency with uploads and this is the game I’m most hype for I hope that they have it where it’s supposed singleplyer to I hope there’s lots of dragon monsters that we can fly on. The only thing I hope for is that the monsters don’t die. I CSNT wait
I hope that there is a male character or character customization I thought the character in the trailers was a male (reminds me of digimon data squad mc)
all i gota say is i hope they dont drop it like a rock like craftopia
My girlfriend's most beloved memory of Pokemon was when she had a GameShark and she could catch trainer pokemon. Catching people's Pokemon like team rocket to not even have to fight them is great!
I think it's going to be good over all, something we have all thought of but never got to do.(I'd probably still be good, sucker for the good guy path, always harder)
