Hazard Protection Setup! No Man's Sky Echoes Update 2023

Hazard Protection Setup! No Man’s Sky Echoes Update 2023

This is how I set up my Hazard protections in No Man’s Sky. Hazard protections are one of the more overlooked upgrades you can get in No Man’s Sky but I think they are the most important. They take up a lot of room in your inventory and provide a ton of protections on planets in No Man’s Sky. Most people ignore one of the best upgrade options when it comes to hazard protections in No Man’s Sky, so let me show you how I set mine up.

  1. I have found that the S-Class upgrades have a count-down timer on them, much like your normal hazard protection, and will only count down one at a time. So having 2 of them effectively counts down twice till it starts using your main hazard protection. So if you are going to be running around on a planet for awhile, you will be able to go twice as far between charging up your S-Class modules, (using a battery or materials).

  2. Running a second S class hazard protection doesn't give you more protection, agreed. However, it does give you extra time. So you get 30m, 30m, and 30m. I like it for big mining/building projects on hazardous planets. I've used that set up plenty of times. It eats through one, then the next and then the base module.

  3. Wait I did the same order and only got 3 min… What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Nevermind, the time depends on how extreme the weather is, and I was in one hell of a storm…

  4. I think you are missing the point of stacking the S class protection. Your base exposure doesn't change. Rather your total time does.

I run three each of the S class upgrades. That gives a lot of protection time. Especially the cold one on derelict freighters. I have a small farm for each element needed to recharge them.

  5. I only disagree on one point. It's more of a playstyle difference. My first play through spawned me on a toxic planet.
I quickly learned that I could dig a hole. I prioritize movement because I can easily make a shelter. That does get old very quickly so hazard protection is definitely a must, But I prioritized getting further before I had to seek shelter.
My point is if you find your health support running low. Dig a hole.

  6. I always just take the buffers… the +21% doesn't mean much when you're mostly playing challenge runs. Start in hard difficulty on an extreme planet in Calypso, and the +21% is just a couple extra seconds when the real hazard buffer goes down. When you don't have space, one of each of the 4 buffers is worth while (giving about 4-5minutes of time), the percentage ones simply aren't. It is a mistake to shun the B class ones and go only for the S. The possible ranges overlap so a B can actually be better than an S.

  7. Also all together u can have 3 upgrades per type along with modules that add stuff ; so really u can have up to 4 or 5 probably . I have my protection on max lol and i stay with s-class or x-class . Surprisingly x class be better than s class sometimes.

  8. There is a use case for multiple S-class upgrades. While they don't add much themselves, the additional adjacency bonuses can be worth the cost, since they are easy/cheap to buy once you have your nanite production going, and you want all of your C-class and X-class modules to all have 4 adjacencies each. With your standard arrangement, the line of C-class modules means the inner two have 4 adjacencies, but the outer two only have 3 adjacencies. If you arranged them in a square, and surrounded them with 8x S-class modules, all four would all have 4 adjacencies.

  9. So basically what he’s saying…

Dont max out your protection… well you have enough spaces for 3 of each so effectively you’re granting yourself 3x the safety as he’s trying to convince you otherwise.

Moral of the story. This video has zero meaning besides ad revenue, get the C class, and 3 of each S class. Youre welcome.
