Protests by the Maratha community in Maharashtra intensified, with highway blockades and railway track obstructions. Demonstrators blocked the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway, causing traffic disruptions, while another group obstructed railway tracks in Solapur. In Jalna, a panchayat samiti office was set on fire during a protest. Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange continued his hunger strike, emphasising the community’s demand for complete reservation. Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray urged the Centre to address the Maratha reservation issue, while Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed efforts to resolve the matter. WATCH.
