My last round of shots seems to have worked. I got the green skull icon in the infection meter and it's been about 4 in game days and it hasn't ticked down at all yet. So I imagine, as long as you get yourself into the green, the meter should stop ticking down. Personally, I'm thinking about taking over a fire station for a base. I'm hoping they add things like stairs and ladders we can build so you can get the high ground on the zombies and the hostiles.
