I don't know if you can get rid of the infection entirely, but I will say, in my save, I gave myself 1 shot and the timer ran out again and I started losing health again. I went out and found enough resources to craft 3 more shots. Those 3 shots only got the infection meter up to a little less than half and it ran out again too. If filling that infection meter gets rid of the infection, it's gonna take at least 6 shots. I like the infection mechanic, but requiring that many antidotes is too much. My next save, I'm turning off that persistent infection.
