BETWEEN TWO FIRES W/ CHRISTOPHER BUEHLMAN
Ty Franck (one half of James S.A. Corey) and Wes Chatham (‘Amos Burton’ on The Expanse) finally get Christopher on to discuss his book Between Two Fires!!! The guys have only mentioned this book like 10+ times so we were really happy to have Christopher on and will again…

Holy shit. Yhis is an amazing combination. I read this book earlier this year and was absolutely floored by it. Gonna carve out time to watch this live!!
Looking forward to it.
Dang, it's like you guys just know i watched The Name of the Rose last night.
I read this book based on a recommendation in a previous Ty&ThatGuy podcast. Good Read!
❤❤❤❤❤
Those across the river is bad ass!
Kam seng Milowdas!
Megatraveller! Now that's a blast from the past.
Holy cow – I loved black tongue thief!
I am an original viewer #3 and I vote for a TV show/movie this review and interview made me order the book, so he sold at least 4 now!
Immediately put out an interlibrary loan request for this book! I 100% agree that telling children about the idea of hell is psychological torture. 24:00 .
Just bought the kindle version. Really appreciate this episode and I like this format of highlighting an author.
Have you guys seen the witch? Would be awesome for you to review that or sleepy hollow, or the original wicker man for this fall spooky season
Why isnt this available on nook platform?
So sad I missed this. Is Ty's name actually Timothy?
A gladiator school is called a ludus.
Read the book upon your recommendation, very entertaining.
I've had this book on my to buy later books, awsome, just ordered
A TG&Y shoutout!!! spent a few childhood years in Tampa and that was the fun store lol
Just bought Blacktongue thief.
Christopher Buehlman is a treasure! Great interview! I got this book on Audible for free.
im sold, ordered already. cant wait to read!
Well, I'm six chapters in already and holy fuck am I in for a pound now
It's too bad Ty didn't ask him about The Dragon Waiting.
For those of you with an Audible membership, as of this comment, it looks like this is free while you maintain your membership. $14.05 (or 1 Credit) otherwise. 14.5 hours! Wew!
Black Tongue Thief is also great.
Don’t do wild cards!
When will you guys review Ahsoka and how short that one stormtrooper leader is!!??
This just went on the library list for 2023. Good Horror Books are hard for me to come across.
Just ordered the book. Was also raised in an apocalyptic cult.
Happy to hear all three of you were taken with Darby O'Gill and the Little People. The promo on Wonderful World of Disney, where Walt interviewed the King of the Leprechauns – that really messed with my head. It's worth watching as an adult for the great use of in camera effects.
I'm totally with Wes on this one. I listened to this book earlier this year and I still keep thinking about it.
I usually watch this channel for the random fun – but this ep bullseyed all my Venn Diagram passions. Ordering book now.
Sounds like an Ars Mágica RPG story.
Happened to read this a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The blending of the settings real world historical terrors with the fantastical horror elements made for a ruthlessly enjoyable read. Can't go without recommending Joe Abercrombie's books to you. Incredible characters, subverted tropes and as the series develops some of the tightest writing I've ever come across. There is literally no limit to the amount of money I would bet on you loving his books😎
Every Buehlman book that I've read has been awesome.
Definitely grab "The Lesser Dead" while you're looking at Buehlman's other works, great vampire story.
At the start of the episode Ty mentions his favourite fantasy novel also uses our real history as a backdrop. What novel was he referencing?
Just started reading last night based on this podcast and it's really good so far. Kinda has the same feeling as The Witcher. Gritty dark medieval european fantasy.
You should definitely do his vampire books, The Lesser Dead and The Suicide Motor Club on audio. He does the narration for those as well as his fantasy novel, The Blacktongue Thief, and his reading of it added a lot to the characters.
Oh man I’m hooked. Just ordered!
I love Wes' intros!
The talk of genre and George RR Martin was funny. I only know of Game of Thrones is after reading one of my favorite vampire books Fevre Dream. Why haven't you guys picked up on this one?
Bought the book!
