New World is in a TERRIBLE State

New World is fundamentally broken from the ground up. Entire sections of the games core loop don’t work, the client side mechanics are being exploited to a point where the PvP is completely destroyed, and the economy is still in a race to the bottom as one of the biggest releases in years hurtles towards the pavement.

  1. lol just getting to 60 and finish the 5 major questlines then uninstalling. It's fun and to me worth the $40. But overall this isn't an MMORPG to invest too much of my time in.

  2. I personally have been enjoying the game alot and I have 120 hours. did 60 of them the first 7 days of launch. I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned in this, and I was server first steel on my server on day one. so definitely not a casual. I simply started thinking about it like Josh Strife Hayes does, its a survival crafting game that happens to have other players in it, and dungeons, and pvp, and a player economy. I love the sound design, the world building work, the lore, the crafting, and the small scale PvP. I mostly only play with my friends, and its awesome!

  3. Played the game for 380 hours.

Here is a lowdown of the game

    1. Companies exploiting.
    2. Companies literally buying faction land off other faction companies.
    3. Companies spam reporting people so they get auto suspended before wars.
    4. spam farming elite shattered mountain locations.
    5. Incapable of doing further storyline after obtaining the tier 5 azoth staff.
    6. Can't craft most legendary items because some legendary items are yet to be in the game.
    7. people are putting their items into the market and then cancelling them in a market they want their items stored so they don't need to transfer it over and lose money or carry it over to one they don't own.
    8. Elitism exists and I feel sorry for people at a lower level or choosing a weapon combo that's not favourable because their never going to get into a war or a invasion.
    9. you can get banned for a day for abusive chat by saying fuck to someone but exploiters in wars get away with it scot free.
    10. Bear cave 3k a kill exploits / killing endless spawning boars to get 200 skinning in less than 30 mins "still not fixed"
    11. I've wasted so much time on a game that offers nothing for the effort I've put in and I'm genuinely annoyed to such a degree I want to move server onto a fresh one so that I can enjoy the game without exploiters but then my issue is that after a few days it'll be the same crap again.

Thanks for coming to my mental breakdown.

  4. Agree with you on most all of this. Still think it’s a fun game overall but need to see some sort of plan or progress or else there isn’t any reason for me to not play FF online.

  5. I have so many thoughts about your video. One thing Ive said repeatedly on Reddit and the New World forums is how much aspects of this game remind me of Shadowbane long ago, and that is mostly not a good thing. That game had more freedom for people to be extreme toxic assholes, but this game still follows a similar pattern. The Enclave you mentioned is a direct comparison to a group of horrible people we dealt with years ago in Shadowbane called the Evil Bastages. People exploiting bugs, hacking, or literally playing the game for the sole purpose of ruining it for everyone else. Also, the more that players hit 60 the more the cracks are showing in the larger scale pvp territory systems which is another thing that reminds me of Shadowbane when those issues are exploited by the worst of the playerbase.

I personally still like the game, and I'm in the 40's at the moment, but my biggest issue isn't even whats broken as much as I see no reason for people to stick with the game long term like a more traditional MMO. Yes I know this has no subscription, but I highly doubt Amazon wants to lose most of the players in a short amount of time. Even if everything in the "end game" worked, there still isn't much there. What is the incentive to keep people playing? Some would say pvp and territory stuff, but I just don't see it for a game that came out in 2021. This isn't 20 years ago. Mindless pvp is fun for a while, but who cares who owns what territories when it really doesn't matter at the end game if there isn't really shit to do. Amazon changing direction in development means we have a game that has no clear idea what it wants to be. I am almost 100% certain that this game will hemorrhage most of its players long term if the broken stuff isn't fixed quickly and it isn't given more of a clear purpose with new content added fairly regularly that keeps players interested for an extended period of time.

This is such a strange game because aspects of it are good and Im still enjoying myself overall, but when you look at the bigger picture and long term future of the game everything starts to fall apart.

  6. New world is done ☑️ done I loved the game but the youtubers def killed it. I’m never playing an mmo ever again. The population is swayed by youtubers and streamers. Games done fellas and they are also going to kill lost ark and ashes.

  7. Here's the thing how many of you had played early launch MMOs in the past because this isn't really a major difference than what we've seen from other companies. Did you just like randomly wake up and read the words Amazon and had high expectations. Part of me wishes that you folks didn't get access to beta as long as you did because there's a very elitist know it all chunk of this community instead of it being a fresh completely discoverable experience. Hell it's got to be a major contributor to your income right now. Nonetheless I do think that you're spending a lot of facts but I also think that you were very much on the offensive with this review and to a degree slightly ungrateful considering the current state of MMOs as a whole. We're literally a couple weeks in and most of you have already maxed out reach level 60 and have a bunch of sweaty player complaints that most of us haven't had the opportunity to explore. Let me ask you a question what the fuck else are you going to go play then cry baby final fantasy XIV?? WoW?? Games that also sucked ass at lunch and thrived off of discoverability and hype.

  8. Let me introduce you to Lost Ark. It literally is 10x better than any MMO out right now. And its devs always listen to feedback. Stop wasting your time with an Amazon game that's worse than Blizzard.

  9. So once again my policy of simply waiting to buy a game pays off. To be fair this doesn't always pay off, like with Metroid Dread, %99.99 sure this game is perfectly fine and working. But what does waiting cost me here? Dread will still be waiting for me after 30ish days. The online conversation will have moved on in a month? And? The online convo usually sucks anyway nowadays and some of the best interactions I've had online about games have been with other late comers.

  10. Besides all the bug shit, one of the intentional design decisions they made, made me quit. When wars are active, a giant portion of the overworld is restricted, so I couldn't quest for like an hour. Horrible design.

  11. Please don’t forget that the APAC server Baralku crashed and time jumped 29 days while it was down. Players reconnected to find themselves in different locations with current wars finished and every town under invasion threat. A month worth of invasions happen while server was down and crafting stations and towns were left undefended. And any time based mechanics like taxes and events progressed drastically.
Devs did nothing to fix or compensate it. No rollbacks, no gold compensations to boost forward, nothing.

  12. I played the alpha version that they ran before the beta, and we had an area of non-stop war. It was a blast. Who's idea was it to remove that and have scheduled pvp….. NO FUN
