Transforming Hope 7: empowering community, inspiring joy 💙🛠️

Tune in to an all-new ‘George to the Rescue’ episode in which members of a community band together to transform Hope 7 Community Center — a vibrant hub in Troy, NY that offers daily after-school programs, a food pantry, and a traveling summer camp for local children — into a colorful, art-filled, and energy efficient space. Hope 7’s focus is on supporting low-income families and providing them with safety, joy, and critical resources. During the summer, kids gather at Hope 7 and embark on exciting daily trips, making unforgettable memories along the way.

This incredible renovation was made possible thanks to the generosity of #GeorgetotheRescue sponsor National Grid, along with other incredible volunteers and community partners. Not only did the National Grid team help transform several spaces — including an art room and outdoor play area for the children who attend the center’s summer camp and daily after-school programs — their team joined forces with Daikon and Best Fire NY to upgrade the building’s HVAC system and implement more energy efficiency measures throughout it *AND* donated an additional $50,000 to assist Hope 7 and its inspirational counselors in continuing their highly impact outreach efforts.

  2. Greetings from Cambodia. My Great-Aunt built houses and taught my Grandfather the trade (her brother-in-law). I can still smell the paste when my Great-Grandfather was hanging wallpaper. You couldn't look more like my uncle if ya tried. I did an Ancestry search and found the Oliphant family in my family tree. Way to go, Cousin!
