TEREZI OWNS – Homestuck – 57

PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ME TO THIS! PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ME!

It’s funny how much I heard about Vriska before reading Homestuck VS how little I’d heard about Terezi given how many of their plot points are linked lol

  1. Yes, something was supposed to happen on that page where you couldn't control Terezi. It was supposed to be like "Objection! You can't play Homestuck without the disk" or something (mirroring the glitchy "Objection" text in the later S page) and then you'd watch Terezi explore a bit and find evidence, but not be able to control her
I like the Ancestors – but then again I already like this part, since I enjoy how different the writing style of the diary is to Homestuck's usual prose.

  2. i personally do enjoy the ancestor stuff!! part of my favorite topics from act 5 act 2. plus, seer ascend is one of my fav sound pages, mostly because of the music, so it was nice getting to see it again!

  3. Personally, I really like the ancestors, but I was hooked from the start, I like seeng new characters and the paralles between them and the old ones, especially when it's ancestors, since they add additional depth to the existing characters, particulary in the case of Vriska, because (as it was already mentioned in the story) she tried to be and based her personality on Mindfang, wich explains why is she so messed up, even compared to the other trolls.

  4. Not me realizing the reason Vriska wanted so badly for Taveros to get confident, fall in love with her, and kill her, is probably because thats what happened with mindfang and the summoner.

  5. Apogee means highest point and similar such things. It’s most commonly used to refer to celestial bodies I believe.

QotD: I don’t know if I’d say interesting, neat maybe though.

  6. I don't remember which ep it was and I can't seem to really find it now, but I think a question I wanted to answer at some point before was if we cared about mo and dad dying. I didn't have enough time to write a comment back then I just wanted to say that yes, 100%, yes. I was SO SAD, I audibely SCREAMED at him when I first found out.

(EDIT: i end up just ranting at no end, you don''t have to read this, this is just me expressing my feelings and not actually writing anything coherent, especially that I did not read it after finishing typing, SO SORRY ABOUT THAT)

Mom, while having not the best relationship with Rose, was interesting specifically because of that! When we got to see her discussing her mom with Dave we had that tinge of a hint that perhaps she could take a different approach to her interactions with her in the future. Even with a dad as good as Dadbert we see the kid actively avoiding confrontation, suggesting that they're in a rough period in their familial relationship. I believe this is simmilar to what's happening with Rose, exept to a bigger extent, since it does seem she views previous events with much more spite now than she mightve when she was younger. So I was holding onto that HOPE, that they will reunite and have that chance at a healthier relationship where both were more open about their feelings… and then THAT happened, Jack killed them. NOT TO MENTION the hints at romance between her and Dadbert, despite how little we saw I geniuently throught they were so cute together.

Idk man, it's probably a fundimental difference in how we consume media, but as soon as a character has any sort of (interesting or otherwise) relationship with another I get immediatelly interested, I get happy when I see more elements of their dynamic discussed/presented and I hate to see them go… HECK, I even cared for all those guys you could see in the Serious Business app! I seriously felt bad for those gentlemen and their families concidering the world was just… ending!!!

I didn't fit it in the comment before this but GOG DO I LOVE DADBERT, he seems like such a sweet dad! And there is jsut something about a common trope being ran into the ground so much to the point of reinvention that really strikes my fancy! He embodies the cookie cutter working dad, but strays away from actually being that framework. Geniuine concern and pride in his son is shown through his notes, we know of him experimenting with his own interests, what with him filling the house with harlequins to see if he can get interested in the same thing that he THINKS John is interested in! He's trying to break the ice, to get through to his son in a period where he feels like being left alone. And seeing John immediatelly think of his dad after he starts to see the scale of things is so good!!! Over the course of the story we see John bring up his dad again and again in hope that he can reunite with him and from how he talks about him and discusses how he may have been unfair to the old guy I had this hope build up that they WILL reunite and it'll be beutiful because John will have a new appreciation for his guardian!!! And then… yeah

thats why the flash right after Seer: Descend is great, but also bums me out thematically, because THAT WAS THE POINT where John saw his dad's dead body WITH HIS VERY EYES, that was the point where he would TRY to avenge him and he jsut.. drops dead, all that build up for something scarily and realistically dissapointing, concidering how they're still very much unprepared to fight with Jack at that point

GOSH DSORRY FOR THE RANT, BUT DESPITE HOW LITTLE WE SEE OF THEM I LOVE THE GUARDIANS A LOT!!!
