my aluminum/iron outpost deleted the iron. The extractor is still there (which wouldnt be possible to place without iron existing at some point) so yeah thats weird. And also my outpost management skill just stopped working. I was able to do 6 cargo links, now I'm not, now I'm only able to do 3 again lol
Regarding PC controls, you can go into options and turn down the outpost build rotation speed. For some reason it defaults to 4x, which is why mouse and keyboard feels so hard to get placements right. Set it to 1x and then it works like you'd expect.
Too bad outposts are a waste of time and pointless if you ever plan to do NG+.
The bounty kiosk doesn't allow you to clear your bounty placed on you by a particular faction if your outpost sits in a system that is controlled by that faction. 😊
Theres a finite amount of content in the game, why would you need to invest so much time in this stuff?
I seriously love you guys. I had no interest in building anything outpost since they took a huge step down from Fallout 4, but after watching this video, now I'm investing time in on it. Keep up the amazing videos fellas, thank you.
what i love most about outposts is that they are entirely optional.
i built 3 earlygame and havent been to any of em in 40+ hours.
all my craftingstations are on my ship and the few resources i find are plenty for what i need.

I’m currently playing most of the quest lines (UC, Freestar Rangers, Crimson Fleet) along with slowly progressing the main quest, and plan to then really do ship and base building as part of NG+.. whatever that really is.
This game can duck off about building outposts. The lack of a minimap makes finding multiple veins after landing impossible. Ducks this bs, I just wasted 1+ hr trying to find a place with just Aluminum and Iron, but without any luck. Bethesda failed so hard on the outpost building, it's a huge step down from Fallout 4's settlements.
I started out outposts by building an H3 extraction facility on Jemison's moon to get the generators and links kicked off and ended up marooning my adoring fan there to run it by himself when he became annoying.
I enjoy building the outposts just for fun, but I feel that the resources dont really serve an end goal. All the research and crafting can be done at much smaller scales. Having a massive surplus is useless, and the venders don't have enough credits to be worth it. There should be a way to sell directly from your outpost in bulk, even if it pays less.
I like the game, but I have absolutely zero interest in building, minerals or outposts in general, nothing sucks the fun out of a game more than managing resources.
If we assume that money is easy to get and the equipment upgrades barely require any resources, why should you bother with outposts? Am I missing something?
I’m not gonna lie… this has me seriously reconsidering setting up an outpost. I was going to try my hand at it. But this… yeah this is seriously daunting stuff right here.
