It might be good that you're getting rain in small amounts at first. It gives the top layer time to absorb the water. Otherwise if you get too much too fast it will end up as runoff. This way the water is available to the shallow roots of grass which you want. Later rains will sink down to deeper levels to provide for trees, the pond and replenish the water table.

I don't think people should intentionally breed anymore fainting goats. Let the anomaly die off. There is no benefit for the goat and it isn't a naturally occurring genetic mutation. In fact I believe it's a cruel trait for the goats to possess. My opinion only.
