I’m sure this is enjoyable without watching Clone Wars or Rebels. However, it’s like jumping into One Piece at episode 500. So much backstory being missed out on. 🤷🏻♂️
If you haven't yet, sounds like you may need to watch Star Wars Rebels. THe Purgil (whales) were a major part of their last season, they saved the main characters, Jacen's dad (Hera's eventual husband and a Jedi) was also a major player in that series. Jacen only shows up at the very end of the Rebels series. Bad Batch? Yeah, that too (came before Rebels in the Star Wars timeline). Ahsoka, in fact plays right off the back of the end of the Rebels series. The character Thrawn you keep hearing mentioned was a critical character later in the series as well. Have you seen Tales of the Jedi? Little five or six episode miniseries that ties in greatly to Ahsoka's -and Count Dooku's – story as well. The 'legacy' Anakin mentions during the flashback segment is her lineage – Yoda to Count Dooku to Qui Gon Jin to Obi Wan to Anakin to Ahsoka.

I haven’t seen many people notice or comment, but when Ahsoka says she wants to live while holding his lightsaber, she gets sith eyes when she says it. Very tiny detail, but so cool.
The Clone Wars and Rebels are pretty much a must watch to get way more enjoyment out of this show, I mean it's good on it's own but the things it brings up from both of those shows adds so much more.
Ahsoka has a strong connection to the world between worlds because of what happens in the clone wars series, and later in rebels. So this is a built up of several events. And yes thats her son, his father was a character in rebels. Watch the clone wars and rebels guys, I cant stress this enough.
Ahsoka basically had a near death experience. Was she really in another place? Maybe, but it also could've all been a vision in her head. It doesn't really matter which. You can take it either way without changing the significance.

Ahsoka felt like her leaving the order and Anakin is what lead to the dark side. I feel what he was trying to teach her that he was going to become Vader regardless.

i loved this episode. complete with Ahsoka The White. i also love that you guys aren't bogged down – so to speak – with the Clone Wars / Rebels; it's like coming at it fresh and with wonder. well done. [and i am 100% ready for you guys to do a clone wars / rebels watch-a-long]

Jacen is Hera's son 😀 They mentioned his dad was a Jedi called Kanan Jarrus, he and Hera were in a relationship but he died before Jacen was born. Kannan was a badass as well and pretty powerful so Jacen def has some good amount of natural force potential passed on to him via Kanan.

Hera is Jacen biological mom. She and Kanan were in a relationship. Remember there were no more Jedi orders so no one followed the stupid Jedi order rules and law after order 66. Kanan was Ezra and Sabina master as well. Mostly Ezra. But he did train Sabin with Darksaber when she had it for a while before giving it to Bo katan.
Props to Dave Filoni for making a great set of characters. I hope you three watch and review tThe Clone Wars it’s such a great story.

I saw the lesson to be that she is all that anakin is the good and the bad but he became the balance and she is too she is more than the bad and more than the good I think we will see her enter more of a balance between the dark and the light as we progress farther into the Series
That is actually her son. Twileks can breed with humans but human dna tends to be dominant. In the animate shows and comics he actually has orange skin and you can even tell here his hair is green. He got that from his mom.
the green haired kid's dad was a jedi from rebels, so it's likely he's force sensitive. And Hara (the green alien with the tentacles is in fact his mom).
