Also, man, player's map movement speed is so much lower than the enemy.
Not sure the flare gun and flares etc are useless if you have NVGs. As I understand it, NVGs just give you one more square of vision at night, whereas flares light up an entire area that could be well out of your vision range, making all enemies in that area visible to everyone, regardless of them wearing NVGs. Not that I've ever used them so far.

I kind of want to see Karen and Martha interact, the explosion from their personalities clashing could probably power the whole camp.
You should go to options -> Gameplay and set auto-pause move to "On" ^^
I am watching this series and it is going well. Group setup and perks are a bit unusual, yet, that's actually a good thing… ehm… entertaining 🙂
I wanted to add one thing though: FOX – without her you truly miss a lot of good banter. Really good/clever dialogue, don't worry, she will never swear BUT whenever she will say something, does not leave much for imagination. One of the most polished characters. Meaning, has astonishing amount of dialog.
