It's frustrating that they don't understand what "adaptation" really meant. ADAPT TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL.

Let me sum up what the critics are really trying to say: "I don't like anime, but, because it's my job I have to watch this. The show is too much like anime, which I have stated I hated for no real reason, and wish that it was literally about anything else so I don't feel like I'm watching anime. It doesn't matter how popular the show is to the masses, I don't like anime, and will write a false, but glowing, review if they changed it so it didn't feel like I was watching anime, which I hate for no reason beyond associating it as beneath me due to my position as a critic."
I'm pretty sure ii got what they were trying to say in their "reviews". The kid from the cartoon "home movies" wrote better reviews when he tried his hand at paid critiquing.
Bah Critics aren't real fans. From what I'm hearing from actual One Piece fans, myself included people are pretty positive and liking it so far.
If critic say it's bad and reviewing with gibberish, we know it will be good.
With the disparity between critics and *audience for so many movies and shows… how do critics even have these jobs?
The trend now is if the critics don't liked it. It's literally a good movie or show.
This is the first show I have binged watched in a long time. Absolutely fantastic and I never watched the original.
Now I won't lie there is a lot of face shots in some parts of these scenes. But we're just opening up the story we can expand on these ideas.
For example the wanted posters we can expand on how we introduce the characters through those introductions. If we get season two we can do multiple ways to introduce a pirate or wanted criminal.
1. A gossiping introduction where we have characters from the next arc gossiping about the anniversary of gold Rodger's execution. There are plenty of characters from the anime and manga that liked to gossip and get dirt on others.
2. Set placing. You put a wanted poster in a bar of the character that walks in for information. That's a classic trope that fits the story. It can even be a public marine office where bounty hunters drop off their latest catch.
Expand on shots from different angles and complaints will melt away
The "It's bland and generic" critic probably just watched the trailer and stopped.
The trailer was terribly done, the show was pretty colorful, stylish and decent entertainment.
I really like the one piece live action I think they did a pretty good job at it but with all of this politics & woke criticism just making me frustrated like if they don't like it then why watch it? and also this ain't Disney where they disrespected the original source material and changing the plot line of the movie while this one piece live action really respected Oda-sensei work so they really want to respect the source material to the fans and a newcomer fans of one piece, and beside this is one of Oda's project to the fans.

They’re not wrong – fan service is shit. There is no such thing as what “the fans” want as people are (hopefully) different. Fan-service molests art into product. Disgusting. Mr H, you’re a moron.
I don't even know the importance of these so called critics anymore. They lived in their own world… they don't understand the culture around them. They are soo far from reality.
