  1. LA TC is scary..course if they were my horses half of them would have stopped to shoot arrows. Maybe Midgard needs to start with blood 1 for impys to force ranged combat on the horses and snipe web shooters. The Van is a solid enough unit early I wouldnt think you'd ever need to rush to conj5. One would think early air gems would be better spent on feathers making your mages more research efficient

  2. TC here. One detail on scripting for the battle with Midgard is that we concentrated the Ancestor Vessels in the center, so that they'd get Blood Surge activated killing the PD and thus have a chance at hitting the Vans; the barbarian heavy cavalry were on the flanks to block the Vans.

This battle was the first time I've used Web as a strategy, and after seeing it, I think N2s using Web are underrated; each cast fires two AOE1 shots that can possibly disable targets, and it's only 10 fatigue plus encumbrance for an N2 to cast. I really wanted to try an MA Machaka game and Web whole enemy armies after this turn :).

  3. Actually, Penumbrals are not very good against Air Elementals. Sure, their life drain attacks are magic and such ignore etherealness, but since all elemetals are inanimate (lifeless) life drain attacks do heavily reduced damage against them (25% of normal damage) and wont do any HP drain.

  4. Regarding the fight with Midguard and TC. One major thing going on here is the raids from Midguard nearly did make us break up our forces as Midguard hoped they would, but since I was able to convince Demonsthenies that Midguard did not have any more Vans than we had already seen by looking at commander names I was able to convince him to keep our forces together. Midguard could not fight our armies without a combination of PD, Hirdmen, and Vans so we went for a fight to knock out his primary PD dump while he would not have enough Vans to win and the Hirdmen would not be able to make it in time. The reason we did not go for a cut off was because at this time we had already agreed to let Agartha go for the capital because we wanted to just take a chunk of Miguard, cripple them and leave them for Agartha to finish off, then prep for launching into a 2nd war without having to try to siege down a citadel which we really don't have the force composition for. At this time we were quite eager to interfere with Erythia's growth.

  5. One thing I wonder, and guess we'll find out, is if the fact that Atco is waiting on a timing will make him look like he's losing the war. One problem I wonder about is if ulm looks like their just seizing a bunch of nothern privinces it could make Arco look like a nice vulture target. Even if they spank ulm later it could end poorly for them if they have to deal with other players nibnling around the edges.

  6. It's so interesting that Utgard is seemingly in a position to be fully back in the game if the player checks back in, takes advantage of Arco situation and perhaps join Marignion in attack against Agartha as Midgard message suggested (not sure how possible it is now after thr TC battle, even if it was real in the first place).

Hell, it could become a major contender if people ever decide that Vaetti are to scary to be left alive as they're in a prime position to take advantage of that as well.

Sure hope the player finds the time and will to seize that 2nd lease on life.

  7. I too take medication to be worse at Dominions. I dealt without it for almost 50 years. It doesn't "fix" it, but wow does it make everyday life just a bit easier.

I could stand to see more of this, please.
