how does the scorpian charm impact physical damage? I thought it was just magic damage?
I've tried using stars of ruin but it just deals do little damage, I'd end up going with stars shower. I'd seen many folks say how crystal torrent and barrage are also very good but from my use they deal no damage at all and burn through my FP real fast, not sure what I'm doing wrong there
How about next time that there's a HIDDEN CAVE. YOU STATE THAT IT IS INDEED HIDDEN
What do you do with the tailisman?
Few points into faith for cleanse spell is a huge boost to quality of life in the game for scarlet rot/poison
Love the guide. I play mage so this guide is really helpful! Please keep them going.
Can someone give me white mask will gift rotten crystal sword Xbox
Anything above 60 int is basically worthless unless you need it for a staff or spell
Dual wielding staffs does something?
Nope. Comet Azur works the whole way through. And I don't even use the armor or the jelly shield. Edit: Watching further I guess maybe you're talking about fast bosses. I usually just use carian blade for this but stars of ruin def seems to work well for this as well. Might give that a try myself.
Man astel is tough
I'm on my Ng+ playthrough and I really want to try a sourcer build. They're really cool.
The Mage builds might be OP in terms of damage, but survivability will be an issue and pressure from fast bosses will make things way more difficult. I prefer the following set-up:
Main Hand: melee weapon (eg. Uchigatana) with Bloodhound Step Ash of War
Offhand: Carian Scepter +10
Armor: Bull-Goat Body Armor/Gauntlets/Greaves with either Bull-Goat Helm or any of the Sorcerer Helms (Snow Witch and Lusat's in particular)
Talismans: Graven-Mass + Radagon Icon + Carian Filgreed Crest + Bull-Goat's (if using a Mage Helm)
The idea here is to be very tanky with lots of damage reduction and high poise and have excellent mobility, so that you can skate around bosses and set up your spells more easily. We never need to roll, so staying at 70% or lower equip weight is not an issue. We'll be primarily using Adula's Moonblade and Stars of Ruin versus more mobile bosses, Great Glintstone Shard for medium range mobs and Loretta's Greatbow for sniping distant enemies.
We have tons of damage as it is, there's really no need to absolutely optimize it at the expense of ludicrous damage mitigation and mobility. I also think the Shield approaches suggested in the comments seem good on paper but you still have to open yourself up at some point to cast spells and you might take huge damage versus really aggressive enemies. Exploit how awesome Bloodhound Step is, don't be a turtle :).
You’re growing fast and it’s completely deserved
Does the meteroite staff's passive still apply when in your left hand and you are mounted? Since the staff is greyed out
Anyone else ever have a dream, and then a few months later, you are physically living what happened in the dream? That happened here, this video was posted 2 days ago but I swear to god, I seen this video last summer
When fighting bosses.. what is your attack rotation? How do you open the fight? And once it’s begun.. what spell(s) are you using to kill the boss?
My game bugged out and didnt give me her rememberence and i cant duplicate it 🙁 really wanted that staff and spell.
Two staffs are carian and meteorite? Why two staffs over one and jellyfish shield?
I thought the meteor staff was the best staff in the game.
Awesome guide.
But for me, I will still stick with Black Knife Tiche. His ability to damage based on enemy’s HP is super powerful against bosses, and his evading ability is just fantastic
Havent Gotten to the Snowy area but basically have everything
Carian Spectre +10 and Dagger with Ash of War: Bloodhound's Step for better movement and gain space.
Meteorite Staff ( for passive effect)
Crescent Crown (INT at 80) plus all Radahn Armor poise at 52
Radagon Soreseal, Graven-school, Stargazer Heirloom, Radagon Icon
Spells:
Adulas Moonblade, Rock Sling, Great Glinstone Shard, Stars of Ruin, Terra Magicka, Comet Azur and Rannis Dark Moon
Summons: Mimic and Black Knife Tiche at +6 each.
Need to get:
On Snowy Area I need Graven-mass Talisman and the Meteorite of Astel.
wait im confused. why dual weirld lusat and the boss staff? what benefit does it do. and does left and right matters?
Thank you for these contributions to science.
How do we get the physics that doesn't consume fp?
What staffs you using?
Help please..
I just managed to regain my once sold full moon queen remembrance and I have to decide now, if I want to get the staff or her spell..
I'm thinking the staff since I will be getting rannis full moon as well
Is her staff worth it? I already got the meteorite staff
I would highly suggest exchanging the lesser gravestone talisman with the magic scorpion charm.
Lesser gravestone: 4%
Greater gravestone: 8%
Magic Scorpion Charm: 12%
Besides that, great video and breakdown on all the spells.
At level 150, my stats ended up at:
Vig – 40 (Let's me survive 1 hit from most attacks)
Mind – 50 (Let's me spam sorceries and allocate more flasks to hp)
End – 24 (A bit of an extra stat but lets me run armor with 56 poise with the help of some talismans)
Str – 12 (min req. for Moonveil)
Dex – 18 (min req. for Moonveil)
Int – 70 (Let's me use any sorcery and is main dmg source)
Fai – 6 (base of starter class)
Arc – 9 (base of starter class)
For Talismans, I used:
Marika's Soreseal (Combined with Godrick's Great Rune boosts Mind and Int to their second soft cap)
Dragoncrest Shield (Extra dmg negation to help counteract Soreseal negatives + some)
Great Jar's Arsenal (Helps use heavier armor for the poise and dmg negation)
Erdtree Favor +2 (good talisman for overall benefits)
littel not about rannis darkmoon, its damage negation for magic is actually 20% higher than full moon, so in actuality the target is going to receive 50% more damage not 30
