The largest hunt in decades for Scotland’s fabled Loch Ness monster is wrapping up. Researchers traveled to the northern part of the country with new technology this time, to try to finally prove the existence of the elusive beast. This search also brought curiosity seekers from as far away as North Carolina, just so they could say they laid their own eyes on Nessie. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer explains.

Since I was little, I’ve always believed that the Loch Ness Monster existed and was still alive, perhaps hiding in an underground cavern somewhere in the Loch. If, by some stroke of luck, I ever discovered the creature’s existence, I would embrace the satisfaction in knowing that a legend is true and leave the creature alone in peace. It doesn’t bother us, so why really bother it?
Maybe next year they can search for Santa.
