To be clear. Nothing wrong with voting NO to sailing. It's the narrowminded attitude, speculation and harassment towards Jagex & Jmods because of the results that is a what's wrong with some people that vote No (yes voters do it too I am aware)
The examples you gave of things passing with the 70% threshold, every one of them did actually get more than 75%, you were including the skipped votes.
for scouting at COX here's a solution. The majority of the HLC that wants open scouting, most of them don't care about purples and are strictly speed running. Maybe make the purples scale almost how they do with TOA. If you are customizing your own layout you have a 0% chance at a mega rare. Maybe you can still get other purples but at a 50% reduced rate. Not really a hard number but just an idea. There are players who raid that don't care about loot. Another example: I would love to customize my own raid so I could get my combat achievement times. Idc if I get purples. I just want to finish COX CA because I'm not a fan of the raid.
I'd be down if Jagex made a learner version of CoX where u can pick between a few premade layouts. When learning CoX isnt as straightfoward as ToA/ToB where you can just follow a guide or learn one boss at a time.
If the learner room also dropped additional supplies I think it'd really help close the gap between the average player and raids.

A new skill will always be a no vote for me. Why? All these gameplay loops can also be added as a minigame/content. I would love to hear some feature a skill has, which a piece of new content cannot emulate. What is the uniqueness of a skill exactly?
A new skill also won't impose restrictions/requirements retroactively on older content meaning we'll just have a skill which, until new content for it is added, has no impact on existing milestones. This means it will be isolated content until the developers spend loads of development time towards integrating it with all the current systems, diaries and requirements for quests, raids and bossing mostly. A new skill also gatekeeps certain content until you trained that skill, a problem a minigame won't have because you probably already have loads of those requirements already.
Be prepared to see a lot, lot more content centered around 'new skill' because otherwise it'll just stay isolated. And also be prepared to see less other content, because Jagex doesn't have unlimited developers.

Completely agree that voting should only be 1 time per user, not per account. It's actually ridiculous how you can vote on so many accounts, of course most of the loud maxers were voting no and without a doubt they'll have tons of other accounts to abuse the system with.
My honest opinion, I don't care much for a new skill, as is im struggling to find the motivation to grind out a max cape.
I will still play the content I just hope its nowhere near as bad as runecrafting.
I also dislike Woodcutting (mainly coz I got 99 6 times when I first played rs2), fishing and Hunter. I havnt tried woodcutting since forestry update and I hope the new Hunter guild provides alternative training methods

As someone who is learning COX, I genuinly don't mind them making the scouting phase completely null… Idgaf, let high end players run it more efficiently. I don't care if prices on COX items drops by 10-33%. They are still absurdly expensive and scouting raids just feels like ass. If something is designed poorly enough that there are bots that sell layout for people to skip scouting, then I don't think it's designed properly. They seriously need to rework this entire fucking raid because learning it is completely cancer for newer players compared to TOB and TOA. Oh no, Tbow drops from 1.4b to 1bil…. big whoop.
I voted no. Screw sailing. I'd rather have dungeoneering and put all those skills to use.

Scapers love using bots, they're definitely using social media bots to make fake support. You see it in politics too, it's super obvious. It's especially noticeable when a politician suddenly has legal fees and has to stop paying for their internet bots đ if they're gonna not RuneScape when they can lose their account, they're gonna bot Twitter too. Sore losers can't just cope with the fact that this is a community game.

the slimiest thing they did u didn't even mention in the video. during their summer summit livestream they kept saying "vote yes vote yes vote yes to sailing" extremely biased and making some of those ppl who cant think for themselves to go and vote yes

You're spot on about Jagex having zero reason to rig the polls. They get money from players subscribing. Content people want to play will get them to subscribe. So they should make content people want to play. How are these people so dumb? It's really not that difficult

One of the best things about osrs is that there's so many different ways to play the game, if you don't enjoy something, just don't do it
The polling change was 27th October 2022, 10 months ago. Jagex outlined their reasons for the post, the following is verbatim from the old school runescape website newspost:
"Most polled content passes with 80% of âyesâ votes or more. However, weâve seen quite a few updates that have fallen just barely short of the 75% acceptance threshold. When this happens, a large percentage of players are missing out on content they wanted and voted for.
Fewer than 6% of active members actually vote in polls. With a 75% pass rate, it only takes 1.5% of those active members voting no to stop a piece of content getting into the game.
We want to ensure the poll system fairly represents everyone, allowing us to support every part of the community. To help accommodate this, in addition to all the other changes described above, we want to reduce the percentage of âyesâ votes required for a poll to pass from 75% to 70%."
If Jagex were to rig the vote they would've made the yes vote go past 75% to give the idiots less ammunition to complain

1. Why was sailing polled in the middle of the Varlamore questions? Multiple people told me they voted yes to all once they read the first few questions cause they assumed it was all about Varlamore. Yes that is their fault, but Jagex knew people would do that. The placement of the question wasnât an accident. 2. How come Jagex never explored/polled the idea of Sailing being a minigame instead? Then bring Shamanism as the skill? Then you get double the content? Since that is ultimately what people want.
Let me be clear. I do not think Sailing will be bad content. I think it will bring a lot of good content & excitement to the game. I just donât think it should be a skill. So many more opportunities as a minigame or just added content.
It feels as if Jagex rammed Sailing down our throats by means of content creators. They then lowered the poll threshold, to accommodate more players, which will lower the quality of their product they are putting out.
