This Lifetime Original Movie centers on Stephen Drew (John Stamos), an adored small-town minister in Haverhill, Vermont and the brutal and sadistic murder-suicide of Alice and George Hayward, the town’s most-beloved parishioners. While the community never imagined such a destiny for the Haywards, dark secrets begin to surface, causing many to realize they may not have been the perfect family everyone thought they were. When evidence of an affair between Alice and Reverend Drew surfaces, Detective Catherine Benicasa (Anna Gunn) suspects that the crime may actually be more complicated and sets her eyes on the likable minister as the prime suspect. Now, Katie, the Hayward’s orphaned 15-year old daughter, may be the only key to uncover the disturbing secrets of what happened behind closed doors on that fateful night and the suffering they endured as a “not so perfect” family. Based on Chris Bohjalian’s New York Times best-selling novel. (2012)

  1. Like y'all, I had a lot of serious problems with the script. 😢 It was off the charts with unbiblical spiritual confusion. It must have been written by a non-Christian or a baby Christian who doesn't know anybetter.
    To be honest with you,
I usually don't sit through these kind of movies. If it grieves my spirit I shut it off. If I'm at the movies, I walk out and ask the manager for my money back…
I guess I kept watching out of curiosity mostly, because I'm recovering💔 from PTSD due to an abusive husband.
So I was just curious as to how they were going to handle it…. BUT I did not for one second expect the AMAZING twist at the end.😮 And with absolutely no remorse😢!

The only positive things I can stay here, is that there was a lot of really good acting going on.😊
Everyone did a wonderful job. And the town that they chose to film in was absolutely charming.

  2. Horrible movie!!!
Horrible portrayal of Christians and Christian pastors.
Adultery is never beautiful and sweet.
    So worldly!!!
And then he does it with another woman!!! What a loser!!!

  3. I just started the film, curious why they say the wife was strangled, but she was found with her head in a pool of blood. Maybe this disconnect will be explained as the movie unfolds.

  4. I am not sure that pastor came to town to lead the congregation towards the love of Christ – seems like he had some other agenda in mind, and didn't even try to fight it. But it was an interesting story with a twist if you need something undemanding for your brain before you fall asleep.

  5. I love this ending and feel so much better rooting for Pastor Drew through the whole movie. I surprised myself with these feelings but even if he had done the shooting, I feel that coward of a husband deserved it and God would understand…..IMO.

  6. Hi Christina, I love watching your videos. I am a true crime junkie, lol. I wanted to mention that Delphi is pronounced Del-fi, like wi-fi instead of Del-fee. I hope you don't take this as I'm being rude. That's not my intent. I hope you have a blessed evening. Hugs

  7. Very good movie…very sad story. Possessive people have a sick love; they don't understand unconditional; the fact that he said he couldn't live w/o her, he needed her said it all. Sure, we all want to love and be loved, and to feel needed, but to the extent that it causes such jealousy and rage, there is something deeply wrong. He needed more than a few months of counseling, it did him absolutely no good. He needed anger management. I was married to someone like that; I got out before I ended up dead.

  8. Well, from what I have seen, so for if anyone in this movie believes in Jesus their faith is extremely weak for the mere fact that they have entertained an idol, another god. Which is not our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God our Father. Exodus 20:3-6 You shall have no other gods and so on. If you say Jesus Christ, then it's him, and him only. Christ says I am the way the truth and the life no one goeth to the Father except through me John 14:6.
