'It's been all spin': Idea intermittent wind and solar will be 'better' is 'not true'

LNP MP Keith Pitt says when it comes to energy, it’s “been all spin” from Chris Bowen, Anthony Albanese and the Labor government.

“This idea that intermittent wind and solar will be cheaper for the country and easier and better is just not true,” he told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.

  1. Lol

  2. Perhaps Sky News can enlighten its viewers how much it will cost the taxpayers to buikd a nuclear industry from scratch and how long it will take to build? I say taxpayers because you can be sure as that big business wont be paying for it. And if it ever made a profit, the profits would be socialised to a select few and the losses socialised to the taxpayers. Looking forward to your segment Sky News, not the meaningless waffle and propaganda that you spew out 24 x 7.

  3. We need to upgrade our old politicians who are stuck on wind and solar technology and replace them with those who can envision the nuclear future. The automobile made the horse and buggy obsolete as an effective mode of transport. If we have a masochistic urge to return to the dark ages, wind and sun as the only alternatives will do the job!

  4. As per the title, it's definitely all spin and little reasoned thinking. Gencost reports now revealed as being consistently misleading by not factoring installation costs for renewables. Other countries have learned the hard way about this but heads in the sand thinking prevails and apparent greased palms prevent common sense in Australia. Seriously time for a rethink before many more billions get wasted.

  5. I watched an interview where the person claimed to be a former Policy advisor for the Liberal party and she claims these turbines are subsidised to the tune of between 600K and 900K each per year

  6. I'm of the firm belief that no sort of power supply should dominate when there are alternative,
I think 33.333% wind an solar is a realistic achievable target with renewable that limits them to a minority share holder in the market place, because it's controversial
I don't think gas energy supply shouldn't dominate yet think it's a feasible way to make energy to be objective 33.333% gas it couldn't be said gas is domineering as a minority with a third of the market share,
I think nuclear power is controversial to controversial to dominate us yet it should be a minority share holder of the market place with 33.333% of the market share, the problem one system dominate it because a policy mechanism that everyone can be taxed by if they increase the cost of power from renewable that it's a honey pot scare where all get hooked then up the price because it's then the only thing available

  7. Of course it's not true. One lie after another on the all electric agenda. The only people who will benefit are the people investing in all electric products and renewables.

  8. It takes 3 times the installed capacity of renewables to generate the same kWhrs as fossil fuels. This will equate to massive land areas filled with solar and wind for huge cost and questionable reliability.

  9. I was saying this over 20 years ago. However, independent, critical, analytical scientists that don't follow the narrative remain unemployed and subjected to decades of vitriol – that is until the masses eventually wake up.

  11. NOW, it’s about the FAMILY !! Thanks 4 my validation, 4 the last century “ they “ have been trying 2 destroy the family, “ they “ cannot stand happy, loving, honest ppl, Y do U think we’re in this 💩, bc ppl do not know their Constitution, ONLY the ppl who lost their jobs, walked the streets and TOLD them 2 shove it, their the Australian’s who KNOW THEIR GOD GIVEN BIRTH RIGHTS, but “ apparently “2 MILLION Australian’s WASN’T enough !! NOW Australia has approximately 40,000 less ppl in it from 2022 . IMO it’s way higher, in 1 year an EXTRA 40,000 ppl died on this LAND !!

  12. Someone is making big money, probably the government bureaucrats… so start learning to eat wind mills and solar panels. Millions more will be built! PS: has your bird population started to decline?

  13. I’d reckon solar is the good option. Build a few more factories to produce them. Get some batteries and have decentralised power. It must be cheaper than keeping all the political donors happy by ripping off the people.

  14. First thing needed is to quietly take that Barking Batsh*t Bonkers Bowen away to a special care facility where he can gibber away to himself about his delusional renewables push & then do something similar with Albo about his equally delusional & dangerous VOICE push. And then perhaps we should send that little mealy mouthed
lefty, lovey & Skyhater @tyronepeader (or should that start with 'paed') along with them too for some extra special care …& perhaps a new nappy..

  15. Wind and solar are a blight on the land…bloody greens want pristine hills and nature but stick stupid turbines and panels all over them…it’s bloody embarrassing…what a shame for the human legacy

  16. They are happy to cut down forests of trees which by the way absorb carbon etc and give us oxygen and putting up those monstrous wind turbines which only work when the wind blows and also needs massive batteries etc. they last 15 or 20 years then they are dumped but unlike trees which are renewable these will rust and poison the ground where they are dumped perhaps even poison our ground waters. Complete and utter fraud. Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQicWEp9P-s
