New space race between U.S., Russia and China aims for the moon



The head of Russia’s space agency says the moon could be the launching pad to explore distant planets, including Mars. NASA Chief Bill Nelson says ice on the moon is why the U.S. plans to land Artemis astronauts since it may be used as rocket fuel. NBC News’ Tom Costello reports as the new space race heats up between China, Russia and the U.S.

  2. Russia and China is not involved in the space race with US.

    The US like to portrays other countries as an antagonists and as well as an adversary when the US face with competition in space exploration which the US regard it as their domains and sphere of influence and will not accept any competition from another country.

    Space exploration is not the sole domain of the US.

    The US has been taking the strategic advantage with its space program from crewed space exploration and the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon, to the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, Voyager, the Mars rovers, numerous space telescopes, and the Artemis program, NASA delivers on the civil space exploration mandate.

    China has come a long way from its inception to conduct scientific experiments on new crop mutations and space discoveries.

    China is conducting lunar exploration of the moon is a natural progression in the foreseeable future.

    China is left in difficult situation when China is being isolated by the US and banned from participating in space program by the US.

    China has to find way to carry out experiment in the space environment.

    China is not thinking of surpassing any country or involved in a race to space.

    It is a bonus if China is able to succeed in its space exploration and scientific discoveries.

    China invested in human resources and developing skilled workforce in science technology engineering and mathematics in space technology.

    China worked with other countries and helped other nations participate in space programs.

    Other nations not allowed to work in NASA can work with China and China is giving every nations a chance to contribute to space science and discoveries.

    The US refusal to allows China to participate in space exploration and the US even passed law like the Wolf Amendment in 2011 to banned China from engaging in direct, bilateral cooperation regarding space exploration and scientific experiments.

    China continue international cooperation is a new beginning for the world outside the US to do scientific experiments and collaborating with one another on scientific discoveries.

    The Chinese Space Station is fully open to international researchers, and guides for the open solicitation of research proposals will be regularly issued under bilateral cooperation agreements.
