If you want to make it even more OP then I recommend the Samurai class for the extra Uchigatana. This build will require a lot of intelligence because we will be using the Moonveil but other than that, some points into vigor and dexterity will be helpful and the higher your level, the more overpowered you’ll be. Dual wielding will be the main focus of this Elden Ring Samurai build guide but you don’t have to if you just want to focus on one katana then use a shield. I’m in love with this Elden Ring Samurai build, it’s a lot of fun with the Moonveil. Don't even bother with the wiki it has been fucking wrong about so many things for me, things I'm like well I know for a fact that's wrong, that stats wrong, that location is wrong, you don't need to do that for that blah blah

Went from a pure strength build to this and also tried a faith/dex bleed + black flame blade build. Both are way more fun and challenging melee builds than the typical strength build!
I can't even begin to explain how advantageous it is to be dealing magic, physical, lightning (offhand katana affinity), AND bleed build up damage all at once. Also I use the Nagakiba in offhand for the extra range. Can literally hit mobs like imps as they are doing their dodge flip over your head.
Edit: I figured it out how to get that filigreed crest. You have to start the blaidd quest properly even if you screwed it up like me like me and beat that weak sauce goal boss first, go hear the howling in the mistwood ruins, then go to the first merchant Kale and ask about the howling, then go back to the ruins- use the snap gesture to speak to Blaidd and then go to the everhound gaol and he'll be standing near it, speak to him three times and then you can get the crest from the gian merchant.
That talisman isn't at that giant merchant anymore no matter what you do, I just tried, I beat that goal boss ages ago and it wasn't there after. Perhaps they changed this in one of the many small patches they've done since launch, I have no idea how to get it and I'd sure like to. Seems we're locked out of getting it if you didn't do the Blaidd quest in the right order.
This is the worst build you could make for a dual katana “boss melter”😂 if you start as a samurai and go get the second uchigatana and apply the ash of war seppuka and use that combined with the encantation (fires deadly sin) you will literally kill all the bosses leading up to the final boss in less than a minute, it took me maybe 30 seconds to kill Margit, Godrick, and Raya Lucaria ( she didn’t even get to summon any creatures because the bleed procs constantly and kills her and then your mimic will dual wield the katanas and apply bleed even more

Bill, can you explain this or share these bugs?
1) Lightning resistance is LOWER than any other resistance. Try it out, respec and put 99 in faith and then in other stat that give resistance and you will see that the rest is 224 while lightning resistance is at 150… BUG?
2) Armor defense does not properly increase your numbers on your stat sheet. I tried it out of a lot of Armor and I can say with 100% certainty that your Armor stats are higher than your character's stat sheet… BUG?
