E-Scooters will be fitted with cameras that shout at riders who flout the law as part of a new crackdown launched by the City of Melbourne in a bid to stamp out illegal behaviour and improve safety.

  1. Remember around 30 bike riders on average are k,illed on the roads in Victoria every six months.
    A helmet might not help much from cars texting and driving then cleaning you up or like Glen Archer did then drove off .

  2. πŸ€£πŸ˜† Just because of notification, it doesn't mean people will pay attention to it. But I'm not against banning them from footpaths, they shouldn't be speeding on footpaths

  3. Yeah, because having a computer say 'slow down, this is dangerous' is going to stop some selfish dingus who knows full well that what they're doing is lethally dangerous – for themselves and everyone around them.

  4. Does this apply to people's own scooters or ones you can rent like bicycles etc? That or is it all new ones being sold must have them pre fitted? I can't see too many people getting them fitted on ones they own already and it would be very difficult to enforce also.
