A Luxurious Stay at North Hollywood's Famous Shateau Marmont! w/ Trixie and Katya | Bald & Beautiful

You and a companion will enjoy an opulent round-trip coach flight to sunny Los Angeles, featuring spacious seating and a delectable in-flight dining experience from Spirit Airlines! Once you arrive in Tinseltown, you’ll stay 3 nights and 4 days in a mildly haunted bungalow at the world-infamous Shateau Marmont, the slightly odorous sister hotel to the Chateau Marmont. Located in an industrial area bordering Van Nuys and North Hollywood, you’ll awake every morning to water-stained popcorn ceilings, a complimentary continental breakfast of yogurt and stale homefries, resort-style amenities like an ice-maker and a mostly-empty Zagnut vending machine, and occasional midnight visits from mildly-malignant ghosts like Humphrey Bogart, Jayne Mansfield, and John Belushi! Taxes and baggage-check fees may apply.

  1. Imagine being a 30 year old man with a hot take on bring it on as if that movie was made with you in mind🙄 geewhiz sure do wonder why you didn’t resonate with stick it maybe because it’s about teenage girls and the actual hardships of being a successful gymnast, both things you have never been

  2. "She tells a woman on a bench she's beautiful and it relates to nothing" I'm pretty sure the old woman is THE "Barbie"s daughter. (Modeled after mother) So it's a nod to her

  3. I mean it’s subjective. But I’m every surprised y’all didn’t understand the nuances of the movie.
Barbie starts off like a child… when she is in the real world she is growing up. Which is evident when she goes up to those little girls at the school and starts crying bc they are at a different stage in their lives.
So when she sits with the old lady at the bus stop, it’s like if a little girl was sitting next to her. Just in wonder.
By the end, she goes to the gyno bc she is now growing up in real life. Becoming a woman both physically and mentally.

  4. There was a good Gymnastic movie about Nadia Commenici (I can’t spell or be bothered looking up name even though I’ll type this out with one finger at work) It may have been a mini series. BTW saw a great NZ comedy called Black Sheep recently, funny as hell.

  5. you mentioned both parts but didnt put them together – Barbie mentions she does not have genitals, at the end she's seeing a OBGYN, ergo, she now has genitals. i think it was just a commentary on her being "human" now not reductive as Katya all said

  6. 3:02 so apparently this is a rare thing based on katyas reaction. But I have never felt more seen or understood than Trix vocalizing this exact feeling. Maybe it’s just a gay male thing but I frequently am far more interested in getting my partner off than wanting to do anything for myself. Like it might not make sense to a lot of people but I get enough sometimes from getting the other person off, which I know Trix is the same way cuz she’s talked about it on uhnn too

  7. I love you both 😘💜 can you do a podcast about mothers who protector they're drag teen 💜 he will be 18 in November! I accept it and I give him everything he wants and I support him in every way! But he goes to school in drag 90% of the time… I'm fine with it but he was threatened from some boys they would not only beat him up but do other horrible things! Of course I went to school and raised Hell!! But nowadays that doesn't really mean anything! I'm like a psycho parent when he gets off the bus watching him every step of the way and he has no idea!! I'm so scared for him!! I'm trying to protect him without taking his freedom away! Wtf can I do can you do a podcast about that! Love you both 😘💜 xoxoxoxoxo 💋

  8. (bouta write some thoughts on the barbie movie cuz i dont have anyone to discuss the movie with yet😭😭. also just my thoughts after one watch so dont take it to seriously.)

i think the old woman scene was a great scene ngl. it helps with plot and it's barbie realizing for the first time that maybe being human isn't THAT bad. i think it's better executed compared to other scenes in terms of implicit AND explicit messaging of this sort of womanly bond and the idea of beauty and existence and barbie's not yet tainted vision with ageist and sexist bullshit i guess.

i think the self awareness of the movie in some aspects does bother me cuz despite being self aware it is a bit like "haha isn't it funny we do these kinda shit things, we're gonna continue doing it tho".

i do find the america ferrera speech a bit on the nose and it especially bothers me how it later just becomes a regurgitated script when recovering the barbies, but i think this movie isnt really meant for people who already talk about these types of subjects, prolly just meant as a way to educate people where possible.

i think movie inevitably just ends up summarizing what barbie inherently is. groundbreaking and feminist in some aspects but still being extremely conformist to a certain degree. i think its still a great movie tho and the fact that something like this angers the conservatives so much is a testament that at least it was able to get a good message across.

  9. I can legitimately say this is the first time I’ve disagreed with BoTh of their takes. They totally did not understand where the movie was coming from at all!!! So many of the things they criticized were tongue-in-cheek, satirical, camp! Maybe they should stay away from these movie reviews for a minute …

  10. The concept of Oppenheimer is so strange to me, the hailing of an obviously bad person responsible for so much death and suffering is bizarre. I wonder, if he was German or had literally any other nationality but did the exact same things – would he have received an award and a movie? Guess not. The USA have to stop declaring their war crimes as heroic. It's 2023.

  11. Do I love Trixie and Katya? Yes. Do I also love seeing them getting semi-roasted and dragged and scalped on TikTok and YouTube comments cuz of their opinions on the Barbie movie? Also yes 😄

  12. I felt the message in the Barbie movie was a little on the nose and it made it seem like that the target audience for the film was ignorant straight men that don’t understand feminism, who probably won’t even see the movie. However the movie was funny but I felt it could include more of a plot. It didn’t mix mature themes like feminism, equality, with the overall lighthearted “for the kids” themes. In the sense that the film often felt childish but then also has jokes that have a lot of subtext (like the Will Ferrel joke or the joke of the Kens doing the boyfriend who wants to play their god awful guitar serenade)

  13. I don’t want this to come across as disrespectful or like I am angry BUT Barbie is something that mostly only the girls will understand and I think they did a perfect job at it !! That being said I would also love pod episodes where they review movies cuz I love hearing about what they have to say lol it’s so fun when they do
