The word "certification" being included in the Constitution, means that there is more than "rubber stamping" going on. Certifying something necessitates that there be an option to reject whatever is being certified, as something which is "certified" is something that has passed a test or level of scrutiny to earn that label of "certified". There's no NEED for a ceremonial procedure, it doesn't even make sense, as there are rules pertaining to how congress can object to the electors, and how if a Senator seconds that objection, there can be a 1 hour debate or presentation or discussion regarding the objection, that the Vice President is required to attend. If the roll was ceremonial, there wouldn't be any rules laid out on how objections would go and who would take part and how long they could last, because it's a massive disruption to the "ceremony", and would serve no purpose. It only makes sense that this is a final check, a final way for Congress to stop any fraudulent actions that were taken. The bar is high to accomplish this, as a congressman and a senator are required per state, and in only an hour, they need to be able to make a case for why the electors in question are not to be counted. The writers of the Constitution would not use the word "certify" if they didn't mean CERTIFY. Now, this only makes sense for there to be a final check on everything, as your going from state to federal jurisdiction, where the states send electors, and the federal government receives them, certifies that these are the correct and lawful electors, and then counts them officially. That process makes sense. It wouldn't make sense where the state sends electors, which are being challenged and in contention, but the federal government just says "well, doesn't matter if there's any questions or anything, if they get to this point, we say they are good to go no matter what". What would be the point of even having the "Ceremony" then? Just have the electors counted and move on. So I would argue, that because the word CERTIFY is used, that the intention in the Constitution is clearly for the Vice President to have the option to send electors back, or pause the process if there is challenges.

Just plain ridiculous. President Trump left the white house and pence could have said we will need an audit of all the electoral votes. But pence is chicken to go against the deep state! That's what happened and pence had documents at his home. Nothing has become of that and a vice president is not to take anything from his office. Biden took documents when he was a senator which is illegal and nothing has become of that either. Even when Biden was vp when he took documents from his office in Washington and nothing has become of that to be investigated and prosecuted like President Trump has.
They will never go back and officially scrutinize that election. The level of illigitimate damage done to this country, and the world, is off the charts. Everything this regime has done, should be considered illigitimate and immediately redacted, in a just world that is.
YES! Anytime there are “irregularities” in an election, it should be thoroughly and in great depth, investigated. Trump tried to get the Supreme Court to look at the evidence he had… would they? No…. and I’m sick to death of Democrats saying “nothing to see here”. Investigate it and let the chips fall where they may. My husband’s great grandmother who died in the 30’s – shows up on the census records every election year. Time to clean up the rolls people! The deep state is using it to cheat! The early voting drop boxes that are left unprotected…. time for those to go…. the “new election laws” just before elections… time for them to go. They plotted and schemed illegitimate Joe into office and now it’s time for all to see it.
